Jurassic Park in concert at the Hollywood Bowl! Conducted by Gustavo Dudamel! It. Was. Wonderful!
JP is one of my favorite movies, and it's my favorite John Williams score, so when I saw this on the Bowl calendar, I couldn't buy tickets fast enough. Dudamel conducting was an unexpected treat. I remember watching a JW biography where Dudamel cites this movie in particular as a huge inspiration for him as a young man, so he must have been thrilled to be able to conduct it at the Bowl in his last season with the LA Phil.
It was so fun to see it again with such a huge group of fellow fans, and it's amazing how well it holds up, some now-ancient technology aside.
I enjoyed it so much, and I'm now really looking forward to the John Williams concert in a couple of weeks! On my birthday!

Dudamel x Lafourcade. Fantastic concert.
Chris at the Los Angeles Philharmonic with Gustavo Dudamel - February 5
Last night, we went to the Marvel Infinity Saga concert at the Hollywood Bowl. It was SO COOL. It was a re-edited retelling of the Infinity Saga with scenes from all the movies and music from the LA Philharmonic and the Cal State Fullerton University Singers, conducted by Gustavo Dudamel. There were fireworks and cool light-up wristbands, and they projected right onto the arch of the bandshell. Kevin Feige introduced the whole thing. It was SO much fun!
My favorite part, which I didn't get any pics or video of because I was weeping too much, was a long memorial scene they did for Natasha after Vormir. It included scenes from all the movies, including Black Widow, and it was the recognition and sendoff she deserved but didn't get.
The only thing better than watching the Avengers Assemble scene in Endgame in a packed theater on opening night was watching it with 17,000 people who knew it was coming. So good!
And then at the end, Michael Giacchino popped out in a jacket with the Fantastic 4 logo, and asked if we had 4 more minutes, and we got to hear the new Fantastic 4 theme for the first time, played live by the LA Phil, with a live choir.
What an amazing night!
