This fitted doublet was worn by Joseph Fiennes’ Lord Robert Dudley in the 1998 film 𝑬𝒍𝒊𝒛𝒂𝒃𝒆𝒕𝒉.   The costume was worn later by an extra as a courtier in the French TV miniseries 𝑳𝒂 𝑫𝒂𝒎𝒆 𝒅𝒆 𝑴𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒐𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒖 in 2008, a production that relied on more than one costume originating from 𝑬𝒍𝒊𝒛𝒂𝒃𝒆𝒕𝒉.   Want to see the portraits that may have inspired this piece? This beautifully detailed, but creatively designed gown was first worn by Marina Vlady as La Princesse de Clèves in the 1961 𝑳𝒂 𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒆 𝒅𝒆 𝑪𝒍è𝒗𝒆𝒔.   Many of the unique costumes went on to be worn again in the television 1971 mini-series 𝑳𝒂 𝒅𝒂𝒎𝒆 𝒅𝒆 𝑴𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒐𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒖, where it was donned by Karin Petersen as Diane.
