Red Dress Run Rox

What is there to do in the New Orleans summer when the heat index is topping out at 110 degrees? Why, we all put on dresses, both men and women, and dash through the streets. The RDR has evolved into more of a stumble than a run. Once upon a time, the NOLA Hash Harriers, a local running club, actually ran down Bourbon Street. En masse, the RDR-ers make their way through the Marigny/Frenchman area to Bourbon where beer is served to them. It was well organized, food and drink a plenty, but I really wanted to run. :-( This photo was taken outside of Lafitte's Blacksmith, one of the oldest watering holes (bricks and mortar-wise) in the U.S.

It's down Bourbon, but not on the stupid end of Bourbon and just past the gay bars.
