Yknow even though there were solid relationships in between the gems in my world (Pearl and Amethyst, Lapis and Peridot, and of course Ruby and Sapphire) my gems were so outright affectionate that it was essentially one big cuddly relationship between All. They were dedicated to their respective partners but it wasn't unusual to see Garnet with Pearl flopped on top of her, dozing. Or Ame with her arm around Peridot while they watched tv, or Lapis leaning over the couch to rest her arms on Pearl's head. I got in on it all the time, I'd find two who were snuggling and just wiggle my way into it. Sometimes we'd all pile up on Lion when it was cold. I think that's why I like the polygems ship like I do. The gems in my world loved their partners more than life, but they all loved each other too, and were all pretty affectionate without it ever feeling uncomfortable or like cheating.
