Everyone needs to watch this...
Just discovered the most unlikely saga about love and loss, fathers and sons, and the right to use GoAnimate despite its flaws.

From His Lips to God's Ear
It's constant. A deafening silence. The kind of silence that can literally drive you mad with all of its noise. At first it's nothing but silence. You can simply assign it such a label for so long before your mind begins to create disturbances. At first it's small things. You believe you hear footsteps. Or the trickling of water somewhere, but try as you might, you can't locate the source. And then, slowly it bares down on you. It's like the static on television, but with heavy bass tones rattling your insides. Here, at this desk, on this throne of Madness, Ikari bides his time, appearing ever stoic, though the only one to see it now is his aging Second-in-Command. Well... And the avatar of his lost love. But... then there's the Boy.
The hallways are no less maddening than the Atrium. There's a windy quality to the air that can't be placed. A labyrinth that leads only to laboratories fallen to disuse and dead ends. The aging emperor occasionally haunts these corridors however, and today... Today the silence is only pushing his stifled anxieties. So, he walks. Turning corners and fixating on winding paths. He treads carefully, but today feels different.
Another corner is turned, and another stone turned. And finally it appears. The source of the thought noise that had been ringing in his head. The Child. That Child. He is stuck in place at first. The Boy just stands, sharing in the defeated solemnity of the NERV HQ. Staring through a window to a landscape he can no longer survey.
Slowly, Ikari's feet move him. The Boy appears not to pay him any mind. So he stops, mere feet from the Boy's turned back. His head cranks out the same window. As serpentine a tongue as Ikari has always possessed, this is the one human being on Earth he could never charm. The one he could never even begin to understand.
"It's ... Astonishing, isn't it?" his eyes fixated on the cloud-strewn skyline. He knows. He knows what lies beneath.
The silence is near painful. Even today, he didn't see the fifth at the piano, he didn't see the fifth at all. Today, he's been all alone. Ayanami isn't in her room, the books remained untouched. Today, he had accepted that it would be slow and lonely. Today, he notices the collar more than ever.
Out in a world he cannot go, the sun shines and the sky is blue, the clouds are fluffy and drift lazily, yet the ground below is stained a blood red. The blood of millions, all on his hands. It hurts to look at. It's the product of his selfishness, his foolishness, his childishness. Was it really worth it?
There's footsteps, Shinji can hear them. His fingers curl against the front of his legs. He hopes whomever is there cannot see his sudden tenseness. He doesn't want to know who is there. Maybe, just maybe, if he pretends they aren't there, they will go away. Shinji's sorrowful blue eyes stay focused on the outside world.
The voice makes a chill run up his spine. The last thing he wanted to break the silence was the voice of him. How can he even face him now? He never knew how, he was always at a loss. It's scary. He's scary. Shinji swallows thickly, his lips moving quietly as he searches for some kind of response.
"I don't know," he replies clumsily. The tension between them makes the air crackle. Shinji doesn't face him. Now, his eyes are on his shoes instead of the sky. His gut twists. Any longer, and he'll chew his bottom lip right off.
