actually icb voop and ray are the only ones subjected to my laumonier lore. here’s the rundown for everyone else 

laumonier is “””French”,,,’’ but he’s not really french. hes from quebec. somehow has the most stereotypical french accent u’ve ever heard 

when henry murderkills laumonier2 they accidentally end up in a haunted/hauntee situation. this is partially bad bc of aforementioned french accent but really bad because his ghost keeps trying to motivate henry into becoming a fairy market girlbossTM but henry’s in his depressive era and spends most of the time sobbing into a pillow 

gansey spends half of declan’s wedding trying to convince henry to fall back in love with him but henry is too distracted listening to laumonier’s tea on niall lynch to pay any attention to him

listen. ive been thinking very much about the gray man ok

this guy survived years of intense childhood trauma from his older brother and had no real emotional connections we know of until he met maura sargent and then risked his life to safe a bunch of kids he didnt know. he could have easily turned either ronan or kavinsky over to greenmantle and been on with his life.

the thing about mr gray that really interests me is his connection to colin greenmantle. like. he tells maura he’s a hitman, but it seems as if his main job is looking for magical artifacts for greenmantle. im pretty sure it mentions that mr. gray either works for greenmantle specifically or works with him often, and greenmantle knows about the gray man’s brother. so like. how the fuck did they start working together??

i imagine that greenmantle probably offered him protection from his family in exchange for doing his dirty work, cause that seems the most likely explanation. like i dont think they ever really mention greenmantle paying mr gray so maybe he was being paid in protection and thats why as soon as mr gray stepped out of line, greenmantle sicced his brother on him? for those who like sad headcanons, what if they started out as close friends and then when things got bad colin helped mr. gray and used his contacts to get him a new identity and disappear and mr. gray viewed him as the caring brother he never had? and then colin slowly got more and more greedy for the artifacts and sending mr. gray and more and more dangerous missions until it put a group of kids’ lives in danger and he had enough? furthermore i want to know how much mr. gray knew about niall... like did he know niall was a dreamer?? god i need to reread the dream thieves and when i do ill probably update this. but. christ.

also can we talk about how he literally gets to shoot his abuser in the face?? like holy shit. the POWER. goals tbh.

on top of that i get really emotional imagining someday when blue and gansey have kids (adopted, blue would probably be adamant about that like “gansey you are literally a billionaire we are adopting children) and he gets to be a grandpa? like he reads the kids bedtime stories in old welsh and teaches them how to defend themselves and makes sure they know theyre safe and loved because he knows what its like to have a family that hates you and he wants the complete opposite for those kids??

this man makes me so emotional. i really hope we get to learn more about him either in the dreamer trilogy or in another piece of media in the raven cycle universe, id be content even with just a short story. or just maggie talking about him. i have so many questions i love him so much. TLDR: the gray man is one of the best, most complex characters in the raven cycle and im very emotional about him
