I feel that it's important for me to say that the only reason I knew about Mr. Scott Smajor in and around 2018...

...is because of the collabs he did with LaurenZside where they reacted to Gacha Mini Movies and those Hooked texting stories.

Genuinely had no idea he did Minecraft content until last year when I rediscovered MCYT.

Bro I saw this thang called hair theory once a couple months ago and I keep thinking about it in relation to Mcyt 😭

If you don’t know what hair theory is it’s basically a theory that some people get their fame when they have recognizable hair/unique hair that’s their brand. For example Billie eilish’s green roots or Chapel roans red curls.

And obviously this doesn’t apply to every MCYT-er but for some of them it DEF does.

Scott’s easily recognizable from his Teal hair even though he doesn’t dye his hair like that much anymore

Lizzie’s obvously got iconic pink hair

Lauren (even though she’s not rlly involved with Mcyt anymore) has pretty recognizable purple hair

When I think of Joel I think of the green streak

Cleo’s typically depicted with pretty recognizable orange curls

Mumbos got the mustache but idk if that counts lmao

Jimmy’s got blond hair in everything which connects to how he’s drawn with the canary curse and just how he’s recognized in guess the build and stuff like that

Again it doesn’t apply to every Mcyt-er but it applies to a good chunck of them and I find that really interesting :3

(The catch is it’s not just anyone with standout ish hair, it’s the people where the hair is kind of connected to their brand/their online presence)
