hear he out, au where kasper/infected's infection is some form of hanahaki that specifically affects the one being crushed on (lampert has a crush on kasper but the crush is so bad that infected can't really seem to get a grip on reality, more or less lampert himself) and to cure the disease either infected gets it removed and reverts back to his former self while getting his memories removed of lampert or, lampert has to loose some, if not all feelings for kasper, slowly making him feel better and healing him over time

~Story Time~
When i was a wee lass watching bfdi for the first time (mind you the first season was going on) I instantly enjoyed it. I loved it so much, I showed it to my brother and it was one of the few things we were able to bond over. One day, while me and my brother were in our parent's bedroom, I don't remember what I was doing, my brother was on the fandom wiki for Firey on his tablet, I hear this specific phrase:
"... Firey has a crush on Leafy..."
That changed everything for me. It was like a zombie had risen from the dead the way I asked my brother to replay that part just for me to comprehend it properly. I then found out about shipping and immediately tried to get my brother to do so but he wasn't interested(...yet). That was the day my worldview changed. My life was introduced to something new and I had braced the feeling with open arms.
Fireafy, my first ever ship. It will forever hold a place in my heart as a catalyst towards a part of me that will never fade away <3
But hey, that's just my experience. I wanna hear how some people got into shipping!
