Noan, Leaf’s mouse demon/guide, is based on the matagot from french folklore.

“Hey wait aren’t matagot’s supposed to be black cats.?” Yeah well I read somewhere that they can have other forms so now Noan is a mouse because why not :P

Noan was the one that got attached to Leaf, following him around in the shadows whispering things to him, until Leaf discovered them and started feeding them. Now Leaf takes care of them, and in return Noan became his guide. Noan, while seemingly helpful and considerate, doesn’t always have Leaf’s best interests in mind mwahaha >:3
