TELL ME YOUR LUZBILLTOYE HEADCANONS
LISTEN LEAH I HAVE A LOT OF AU FEELINGS BC:
long road trips around the whole continent and further - who needs to settle down when they have a all of bill’s favorite bands on cd (luz brought boys ii men so bill and luz sing ballads and joe sort of just whispers the lyrics against the door on the downlow). and they end up on the northwest beaches and fishing in alaska and getting kicked out of canada and drive down to mexico or dive over to texas for all those giant texas shaped steaks. the whole time luz can’t shut his trap for longer than it takes him to sleep and bill won’t stop complaining about the sunburns he keeps getting and toye rolls his eyes more than any human being can count but damn he’s never been happier, these dweebs are his sun. (mostly bill and toye switching off who’s driving and luz in the back trying to find new ways to combine snacks for new, tastier extreme upgrade snacks - ‘look guys if you combine the honey nuts with goldfish and m&ms it’s the greatest thing in the world, guys are you listening we’re going to be rich.’)
they buy the cheapest place in all of philly (philly bc bill misses his giant family and mostly his mama) but the cheapest place is actually just this furniture shop that has a layer of dust thicker than the carpet and a little upstairs with a couple bedrooms and a cute little kitchen that’s too small to fit them all so they take turns grabbing things out of the fridge an eat leaning against the drywall
they can’t keep the place unless they get themselves a business license and start selling stuff so toye borrows buck’s pickup and drives off into the woods all alone and comes back with the cab and the bed filled with these long, gorgeous slabs of wood and with some of the tools in nix’s shop he spends the next month building these stunning wooden rocking chairs and kitchen tables and with a little string pulling on luz’s end they get themselves a license and end up a little more popular than originally intended (although every time toye builds something bill get’s way too attached to it and can’t just sit around and watch these unworthy people purchase thIS ART and if some of the best stuff goes missing and appears only after a week in their own living room who’s really paying attention)
at first bill and toye think all of luz’s get rich schemes are just him spitballing actual trash but then luz sets up a lemonade and hard liqueur snow cone booth at the beach and he’s peddling in cash like he’s a gd bank and suddenly they’re not so skeptical, even join him and make enough to buy snowboards bc they’re adults and it’s june and they make bad decisions
bill makes breakfast every day in those first few months (he’s still trying to find a job that fits right - every job he’s landed since he’s got back home he’s either quit or been fired from (he’s bored, he’s irritated, he tends to pick fights with the costumers. serving’s no good cause he’s not polite, bartending’s no good bc he’s got no patience, lumberyard’s no good bc he’s picking fights with the other guys and slacking off)) he cooks like his mama taught him and luz will thank mama guarnere every day for the feast he’s getting
luz starts work as a handyman and brings home all the cool looking extra wood from jobs so toye can get a look. anyone he works for likes him immediatly and with toye and luz making money they could actually upgrade, move into a better home, but they’ve grown fatally fond of this crappy house and the garbage wallpaper and the holes they’ve each punched in the wall and covered with stick figure crayon drawings their nieces and nephews have sent on birthdays
toye fuckiGN FIGHTS the fellas who come down to their cute little shop and offer ‘protection’ for ‘a small fraction of their income’ - just punches the guys square in the face. bill and luz were out at the time but he’s joe toye and he’s mad bc one of the projects he’s working on had a minor set back so it’s sort of nice that these young men decided to come in when they did he was looking for a reason. of course they’re not bothered again
bill sleeps in the middle of the bed when it’s not so hot that they just sleep on the floor or the couch wth the fans going. toye prefers the edge where he can slip away unnoticed and luz likes the wall. bill tends to spread out tho and everyone else has to mold around him. then they get a dog who sleeps on the bed too and it’s a real mess trying to not kick each other off the bed (this is why luz likes the wall he’s 100 pounds of easily dropkicked lbr)
BILL FINALLY GETS A JOB WORKING AS A NURSE FOR VETERANS - he loves this job so much, there’s nothing he loves more than the no-nonsense take an old bat has and he gets along a little too well with this lot. he stays late to listen to all their stories, gets invited to their poker games and also to their dance balls where he dances with literally everybody there
they set up the roof with a little couch and a bar-b-q and a kiddie pool for the hot days and toye and luz watch the sunset and toye and bill watch the sunrise
they are always happy and nothing bad happens and sometimes they go on vacations and sometimes toye has to punch someone in the face and even babe shows up sometimes to talk about some pretty doctor in louisiana with a nice accent and a short swing
