I am absolutely disgusted to discover that your task force leak has clearly not been contained. Not only does the press now have names, but they have a detailed description of evidence that should have never left Bureau hands.
Based on the fact that a tabloid newspaper is in possession of what should be confidential information, not to mention the actual content of what is on these videotapes, it is perfectly clear to me you have absolutely no control over the agents who are working under your supervision.
I have requested that you immediately find this leak and shut it down and you have failed to do so, possibly to the detriment of your agents and to the detriment of the Bureau. Instead of being able to devote every second to finding Agents Mulder and Scully, I now have agents wasting time by having to field questions left and right from the press regarding a sex scandal. This is on your head, Assistant Director and I do not want to hear from you again until this is fixed.
You have until 5pm, to deliver to me the name of the agent responsible for leaking this information or you can expect a formal reprimand in your file as well as an immediate emergency meeting with OPR to discuss reevaluating your position as Assistant Director.
Don’t test my hand, Walter.
Also, you can expect to be leading a workshop on appropriate behavior between partners when all this settles.

On behalf of SAC Johannesen, the members of the task force, and myself, I would like to apologize for the clear dereliction of duty that one of our task force members demonstrated. Special Agent Tom Colton did willfully distribute confidential information pertaining to Case Number 13-8265014-99. This information was meant for Bureau eyes only and he deliberately provided sensitive aspects of this case to a member of the press.
Special Agent Tom Colton is hereby censured and relieved of his duties effective immediately. It will be determined via OPR if the Bureau will bring Mr. Colton up on charges of hindering an ongoing Bureau investigation.
