Top Five Favourite Star Trek (any flavour) Characters :)
YAY! I NEVER GET STAR TREK ASKS FOR MEMES!
1. Kira Nerys - One of my favorite characters in anything ever. She is amazing and lots of my favorite DS9 episodes involve Kira's backstory.
2. Data - Adorable and wonderful. A lot of my favorite TNG episodes are Data episodes.
3. Odo - I love his grumpiness and all his conflicting loyalties, whether it's to the Cardassians vs. the Bajorans during the occupation or Starfleet vs. the Dominion during the war. Kira/Odo is also my favorite Star Trek ship.
4. Jean-Luc Picard - My favorite captain!
5. Miles O'Brien - Criminally underrated. I always wish they'd told us more about his past. The hints we do get about the Cardassian War are fascinating.

Next question: Where can I find her fic? Heh.
there are, alas! only two things up thus far (hope for more forthcoming yes?) and can be found under her fic tag or on AO3.
and is also just a wonderful person in general WAVE AME
leavesinwinter replied to your post: Probably unsurprisingly, I'd like to know about...
Ooh. I LIKE this. And it makes a lot of sense, too. (I like Finrod best when he’s not written as saintly and perfect.)
Indeed! Who isn't more fun when they're not written as saintly and perfect? Finrod definitely has his own issues - the aforementioned zaataronpita actually writes a fantastic, flawed Finrod. Which is where I get most of my headcanon for him.
Probably unsurprisingly, I'd like to know about Returning.
I’ve written very little of this one, but it was primarily the brainchild of zaataronpita discussing her top five Finrod ships, one of which was “Finrod/Amarie whom he puts on a pedestal but once he’s released from the Halls of Mandos it all turns bitter because how can a Vanyarin Elf who’s never left the Blessed Realm ever understand one of the Exiles and what they’ve been through?” To which my response, predictably, was “holy hell, suddenly I ship it.”
Because all you have to do to make me ship something most of the time is to make it dysfunctional. I have…a problem?
What I do have, though…
His father was the first to greet him on his return, with open arms and a smile, tears welling in his eyes. Finarfin (Arafinwë, he reminded himself), almost unchanged, and his eyes bright with relief. “Welcome home, my son,” he said, and embraced him tightly.
Home, Finrod thought. The word felt jarring, strange, and it was Nargothrond that appeared in his thoughts. He banished that and found a smile, returned the embrace. “I’m glad, and grateful,” he said, “to have come back.”
Elrond!
AAAAAH, sorry this is so late!
Why I like them
Elrond is the best. He has a fascinating, tumultuous life, he’s an incredibly tragic character, and he’s still one of the nicest people around by the time we get to the Third Age. Elrond is someone who has truly learned from the mistakes of his forbearers, as well as his own mistakes (because he’s made quite a few, don’t get me wrong). His wisdom came at great personal cost, so he makes good use of it. He’s an awesome brother and an awesome father and he may have some confusion when it comes to being a son, but he does his best there, too. All-around best Middle-earth character ever!
Why I don’t
Nothing to say here!
Favorite episode (scene if movie)
The Last Alliance! That counts as an episode, right? Actually though, the Last Alliance is one of my favorite events in Middle-earth, and Elrond’s role in it is fascinating. He has to deal with Gil-galad dying, Isildur not destroying the ring, and the political nightmare that is trying to get all the elven factions to get along. It’s exciting stuff.
Favorite season/movie
I love Elrond in The Hobbit really a lot.
Favorite line
“He was noble and as fair in face as an elf-lord, as strong as a warrior, as wise as a wizard, as venerable as a king of dwarves, and as kind as summer.”
A GOOD QUOTE
I also really like this one, even though it’s less about him:
“For Maglor took pity upon Elros and Elrond, and he cherished them, and love grew after between them, as little might be thought.”
Favorite outfit
DAMN.
OTP
Elrond/Celebrian <3
Brotp
Elrond and Elros D: (Although I also love his friendships with Isildur and Glorfindel.)
Head Canon
I have SO MANY. Probably the most important one is the nature of the relationships between Elrond, Gil-galad, and Cirdan. They are perhaps my favorite Tolkien family, even though they aren’t blood-related (I guess Elrond and Gil-galad are distant cousins). Cirdan pretty much raised Gil-galad, and has been his most important advisor for as long as he’s been king. Gil-galad wants to be that kind of father-figure for Elrond, who he thinks of as a son, but Elrond already had a father (Maglor) and lost him. This creates a lot of tension between Elrond and Gil-galad at times. Cirdan is also an important mentor figure to Elrond, and helps him adjust to life without Maglor and later to life without Elros. He’s the one who mediates conflicts between Gil-galad and Elrond. Ultimately they all care about each other a lot, and it’s really hard on Elrond and Cirdan when Gil-galad dies.
Unpopular opinion
Can’t do Elrond/Gil-galad ever, nope, sorry. See above headcanon, which is now the only way I can imagine their relationship.
A wish
I really want him to be reunited with Maglor at some point.
An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen
Let’s not have Elladan and Elrohir (or, heaven forbid, just one of them) choosing mortality. I don’t think I could handle another twin-separation story.
5 words to best describe them
(These are for adult Elrond, because he goes through a lot of headcanon character development when he’s younger)
Wise, devoted, compassionate, capable, bitter (I think he still is even after all these years, especially about Elros)
My nickname for them
I don’t really have one.
