He meant to tell him sooner but really Kate insisted on waiting to make sure the world really wasn't ending beforehand. "So... Kate and I are getting married. I finally asked her and she said yes, we were hoping you'd be able to make it. Not sure when it'll be but probably next year when I graduate."

there’s  a  deserved  moment  of  shock,  unfamiliar  words  not  processing  as  quickly  as  things  he  was  used  to  hearing.  eli  mentioning  an  alien  invasion,  no  problem.  kate,  and  married,  it’s  a  lot  to  take  in.  in  the  best  way  possible.  ❝ ---  of  course! ❞  steve  is  on  his  feet  and  closing  the  distance  between  them  in  quick  order.  there’s  no  time  for  argument  as  firm  arms  envelope  eli  in  a  CONGRATULATORY  hug.  he  grips  the  young  avenger’s  shoulder  and  gives  it  an  excited  shake. ❝ that’s  great  news! ❞ he  doesn’t  bother  trying  to  conceal  the  sentimental  sparkle  of  ADMIRATION in  his  eyes,  thinking  about  how  far  they’d  all  come,  and  everything  they’d  been  through.  ❝ are  you  kidding?  you  couldn’t  keep  me  away. ❞  he  rocks  back  on  his  heels,  grin  never  wavering.   ❝ have  you  chosen  a  venue  yet?  --  you’ll  only  need  room  for  a  few  hundred. ❞  now  he’s  just  giving  him  a  hard  time.    //   @legacycarried  &  @daniwrit  !!

To get your blessing? Kate might not care tradition and she doesn't like expressing her emotions but... She loves you a lot and you're one of the most important people to her. It would mean a lot to me that we're taking this step with your approval..."

HE SMILES AT THE YOUNGER. His heart could barely take it. The two of them were just so cute. He was wondering when they’d finally make it official. Kate had already showed him the ring, but this was the real surprise. Clint nodded as he signed. He poked Eli’s chest and then held fist over fist. He spelled out her name as not to cause any confusion on which Hawkeye they were talking about. Ending with lifting both hands excitedly in front of his chest. You make Kate happy.

Now he's had a bit of a growth spurt, damn those super soldier hormones, since she last seen him but she's still tall enough to where her hair tickles his nose when he goes in for a hug. Behind her can see Gerry set up in front of the TV watching paw patrol, the sight making him smile as he pulls back to offer her a sheepish smile. "Sorry for not calling ahead but as you can see... your favorite brat is back."

It was good to see him. There aren’t enough constants in Jessica’s life, so seeing Eli again was... refreshing. Is that the word? Or is she being too cynical about relationships again? Probably both. 

She let herself hug him back, giving him a good super human squeeze for a second, as if to say ‘You may be taller know, but I’m still stronger.’ When they parted she smiled at him, then pinched the top of his ear. 

“Sorry’s not gonna cut it, Mister Patriot.” She said, sternly. She looked at his face and let go, listening to Gerry laugh. She bent down and picked him up, extending the toddler to the young man. “You can start by paying the Gerry tax.”

“Have the Avengers finally come to find out what the villainous White Queen is doing?” Emma said, not even looking at the boy. “What say you, Americ=kid? Unless you’re here to complain at me for trying to bring the twins to Utopia. I believe that ship has sailed.”
