So, I noticed that the post-canon Byler Dynamic Shift already started happening, and I decided to claim my banner lmao
(this is for funzies people,, DO NOT come at me, I will block you<3)
Very random Wheeler family headcanons:
Karen loves music, but she never got the chance to learn any instruments, so when she married Ted, she asked him to buy her a piano so she could learn how to play.
She grew bored of it pretty soon tho, and the piano collected dust in the living room for a few years.
Karen blamed her age for her loss of interest in learning music, so she decided to make all of her kids learn at least one instrument in their childhood. Ted didn't really care either way, so he just let her do whatever.

When Nancy turned six, she started to learn how to play the violin. She wasn't particularly excellent at it, but she was good enough that Karen was happy to show her skills off in front of her friends.
Nancy didn't really like the instrument thought, she felt like it was taking way too much time from her, and for nothing. She managed to convince Karen to stop making go to her lessons when she started high school, pointing out the face that she was going to have a lot more work to do, which already gave her less free time.
Her violin is now collecting dust in its box in the bottom drawer of her closet, and she only uses it occasionally during family dinners, when Nana Wheeler wants to hear her play.

When Mike was about five, he showed some interest in Karen's old piano, playing with the notes and giggling while making up some toneless melodies. Karen immediately jumped on the opportunity, and immediately put him in piano class.
Mike ended up being surprisingly good at making up pretty melodies, but he never managed to read a partition, which quickly annoyed his professor, who ended up screaming at him in frustration after multiple months of trying to make him understand how the notes worked. He was about eight years old at the time, and his best friend Will Byers had been silently hanging out with him in the living room, reading some comics while waiting for his friend to finish his lesson. The unexpected screaming took him so off guard that he cried.
Karen never managed to make Mike touch the piano again after that day.
But in high school, he started to spend more time with the Hellfire club and learned that the club's older members had a band and that Eddie played the guitar. So of course, he asked for one for Christmas, and managed to teach himself how to play it, without ever learning music theory. He didn't need it, really, since he could recognize and reproduce most melodies pretty easily.
Nobody in his family was particularly pleased about his music tastes, but at least Karen was happy that she could 'show off his talents' to her friends.
♪★♪
When little Holly turned seven, she became very determined to learn how to play the flute, because one of her friends was learning it too, and she wanted to 'be twins with her'. So of course, Karen got her a flute professor.
Holly turned out to be a fast learner, and she found music theory particularly interesting and was particularly good at it, especially for her age.
However, despite her best efforts, she just didn't understand how to put her knowledge to practice, and she was definitely not as good at actually playing the flute than at reading a partition.
And of course, that frustrated the little girl to no end, so she finally gave up on trying to play, and went back to studying music theory on her own.
When she'll be older, she'll be a great professor.
Gosh I fucking HATE the "b-but aroace ppl can also be in a relationship! 🥺" argument. Like. Yeah, I could, BUT I DON'T FUCKING WANT TO. Shut the fuck up.
To me- as an aroace person, when people tell me "but you can still date/fuck right?" it just feels so fucking dismissing.
I mean, would you tell a gay person "but you'd still date/fuck a girl, right?"?? Or "but you'd still fuck/date a guy rigth?" to a lesbian???" No the fuck you wouldn't!! Because the definition of their sexuality is that they don't feel attracted to this specific group of people!
So why are the rules different when it comes to aroace people? Why is it that when I say I don't feel any atraction, either romantic or sexual towards literally ANYONE, people still expect of me that I follow society's rules and date/fuck someone anyway?
I just. I don't even know if this post makes any sense, I just fucking can't with this anymore.
I don't think I'm ready for byler to actually be canon...
Like, don't get me wrong, it's going to be AMAZING, and so, so validating for all of us to know that yes, these two boys' wonderful love story was in fact there all along, and that they did get together in the end. Byler not being queer bait is going to heal so, so many people, and I absolutely cannot wait for that.
What I mean is, I may have been here for only two years, but I don't think I'm ready to actually share byler with the GA.
I'm not ready for this HUGE wave of new people to come and claim that they "knew it from the start."
I'm not ready to see people who dismissed us, and our theories and analysis for SO LONG, to suddenly switch sides and go "yeah, yeah, we all saw it coming, you guys are not special."
I'm not ready for the hate and disgust that homophobic people are most certainly going to throw at the show, at the actors, at the Duffers, and at us, for believing in love.
I'm not ready. And to be completely honest, I'm even a little scared.
But it's going to happen, there's no stopping it, and it's going to be beautiful. It's probably going to mark media history, and I'm so, so excited for that.
I'm excited, and I'm scared, and I can't wait, but I'm not ready.
Lots of mixed feelings here haha.. TuT
Anyway, I just wanted to get this off my chest before season 5 comes out in a few days, and to see if anyone feels the same! :)
Love you all, and I can't wait to see us win!! 💙💛
Have we considered omega/omega janka yet?
Byler HC, hot take edition:
Will can't cook for shit, and Mike's actually a pretty good cook when he tries.
HEAR ME OUT!!!
Will's got those Joyce genes... He'd probably manage to somehow burn water or something. I mean, he can probably cook some simple meals like mac 'nd cheese and so on, but he has to be really focused on what he's doing to not mess it up at least a little.
And Mike's been raised by KAREN WHEELER. The lady who seems to always have something cooked or baked for literally any occasion!! I know she taught every single one of her kids how to cook and bake, and used that as a way to connect with them. How do you think Holly can bake like that when she's so young, huh? 🤨
Anyway-- spreading my Mike Can Cook agenda lol
Me when gnc transfem Zanka and nonbinary transmasc Jabber.....
