Wanda and Natasha had gotten closer to each other over the years, and the Scarlet Witch looked up to the Black Widow in admiration. Despite the fact that she could easily overpower Natasha, she still was in awe of her fighting skills and how she carried herself with fierce confidence.
She trusted Natasha like a sister, and the same was true the other way around. Wanda was starting to see why Yelena was so fond of her big sister.
Wanda was truly happy for the two of them. Being reunited with your other half after so many years must have been an amazing feeling. Most of the time she was happy for them, but there were times when jealousy crept in. She missed her brother Pietro and wished she could have the kind of relationship that they had.
Natasha did her best to include Wanda to not make her feel left out, but there was still the pain of the fact that she would never quite have what they had.
Wanda was in her bedroom feeling down about this, wanting to be away from everyone for now. She knew it wasn’t good to be alone with her thoughts, but she didn’t want to bring down everyone else’s mood.
There was a soft knock on her door, so she snapped herself out of it.
“Come in.”
“Hi Wanda. What are you doing here sitting in the dark? Yelena was asking where you were so we could play a board game together,” Natasha said, walking over to sit on her bed.
“Oh, that’s thoughtful,” Wanda said, slightly caught off guard that they wanted to do stuff with her.
“You seem a little down. Are you okay?”
“Not really,” Wanda confessed.
“Do you want to talk about it?”
“Okay, I can try,” Wanda sighed. “I guess I’ve been feeling jealous of you and Yelena. I really love how you guys try to include me in things, but sometimes I feel like a third wheel.”
“Oh Wanda. I know it’s hard and I’m sorry if we’ve made you jealous. I promise that’s not our intent and you’ll never be a third wheel. You’re our other sister,” Natasha said, rubbing Wanda’s back comfortingly.
“It’s just hard to believe that. I know you two would rather be alone together than have me along for the ride,” Wanda said.
“That’s not true. If anything, you make it so much better by being there. You’re the buffer that keeps me and Yelena from pulling our hair out,” Natasha joked.
Wanda smiled softly to herself, nodding. “It’s just hard seeing any siblings, not just you two. And it’s not that I don’t like being around you two, but it just makes me insecure sometimes.”
“That’s fair, and I understand that. You can always let us know if you need some space or even hang out with just one of us separately,” Natasha reassured her.
“Thanks, I appreciate that.”
“Now, do you wanna come downstairs to help me and Yelena not pull our hair out?” Natasha asked with a smile.
“Well, you’re old and balding, so I don’t really think you need Yelena there to have your hair fall out,” Wanda teased, now feeling in a playful mood after their conversation.
“What?” Natasha laughed, not sure if she had heard right.
“I’m saying you're old,” Wanda reiterated.
“Yeah, I got that,” Natasha said with an eye roll. The redhead was just happy that Wanda seemed to be in a little bit better of a mood. However, as quickly as the smile surfaced, it quickly disappeared.
“Did you still want to talk about it?” Natasha offered.
“No, it’s okay. I promise I feel better.”
“Can I try something to help cheer you up?” Natasha asked.
“Sure,” Wanda agreed.
The redhead scooted herself to sit on Wanda’s thighs. The witch was still sitting upright against her pillow, so she was now trapped.
Before Wanda could ask any questions, Natasha reached down to tickle the girl’s ribs, causing her to squeal in surprise.
“NATASHAHA! WHAHAT AHAHARE YOU DOHOIHING!” Wanda shouted, hunching over and wrapping her arms around herself in self-defense.
“Getting you to smile!” Natasha said with glee, as the witch ducked her head down so her smile couldn’t be seen.
“Ah ah ah, no hiding from me,” the black widow warned, reaching back to squeeze right above her knees.
Wanda yelped in surprise, her whole body snapping upwards at the sensation.
“OHOH MY GOHOD STAHAHAP!” She shrieked, covering her face in embarrassment.
Natasha shook her head at her, grabbing her arms and holding her wrists in one hand. With the other, she tickled the girl’s stomach, seeming to have hit the jackpot.
Wanda was in hysterics, now unable to talk through her laughter. The redhead took it up a notch and slipped her hand underneath her shirt, scratching away at her cute tummy.
“NOHOHO! NAHAHAT!”
“Yes?”
“PLEHEHASE GEHET OHOFF!”
“But I love seeing your smile, it’s so precious,” Natasha cooed, balancing herself as Wanda wriggled beneath her. “Plus, you did call me old earlier, so I think this also counts as your punishment for that.”
Wanda laughed harder, both from the tickling and from the hilarious joke from earlier.
“Where’s your most ticklish spot?” Natasha asked teasingly.
“WHY WOHOULD I TEHEHELL YOHOHOU?!?” Wanda exclaimed.
Natasha let go of her hands and pinned them under her knees.
“I think I know where it is,” Natasha grinned, slowly moving her hands towards Wanda’s neck.
The witch shook her head frantically. “Noooo! Nat, please!”
Natasha snorted at her reaction, using her nails to spider over the sides of her neck and up along her ears.
Wanda was a cute giggly mess, scrunching up her nose as she laughed, and shrugging her shoulders up to protect herself from Natasha’s mean fingers.
“ohohOKAay! I cahAHAHan’t!” Wanda was wheezing with laughter, turning red in the face.
“Hmm, as long as you’re all cheered up and accept that I’m not old.” Natasha raised an eyebrow at her.
“Nohoho!” Wanda insisted, still giggling.
“You just want to be tickled more,” Natasha laughed, going back to tickle her tummy and sides. Wanda squealed and quickly surrendered, playfully pushing the redhead off of her.
“Your nails scare me,” Wanda admitted.
“They’re the best tool for tickling,” Natasha said, wiggling her fingers at Wanda playfully.
“Are you feeling better now?” Natasha asked.
“Yes, I am. It felt good to laugh freely,” the witch admitted.
“That’s great to hear. Wanna come down and play? I bet Yelena’s wondering where we are,” Natasha said, as Wanda nodded and stood up, following her out the door.
Little did they know that they had given Yelena just enough time to set up a prank.
