First post of the new year, last drawing of 2019! All of my personas taught me some valuable lessons in the last year, and I've wanted to draw them all for a while. After falling in love with the song "Absentee" by Jack Campell, I knew I'd found a great composition after watching the music video. At the risk of sounding cheesy, I have to say there's a lot I've learned from developing these characters. Some were made to be a persona, others just sort of naturally evolved into them. But each and every one of them taught me something valuable about the world & myself. Leroy & Spider-Pants never refuse to keep fighting, even in the face of utter defeat. I learned to enjoy games again & not feel guilty for playing them! Thank you, Aurelian! Bentley reminded me to never let the establishment bury me. Alton serves as a warning towards the opposite: self-destruction. Edgar wasn't meant to be a persona, but he has proven invaluable in remembering to acknowledge when I am at fault for something...a skill Edgar doesn't have. Baulderdash the clown is a symbol of remaining optimistic despite others wanting to drag you down to their sad level. Hope I can do more with him in the new year. Whenever I felt myself feeling alienated from humanity or afraid of opening up to what I'm truly feeling, I think of Prince Hal. And Antoine might have the ability to gaze into the past...but I'm really aiming for his story (& mine) to be about letting go of the past that no longer makes you happy. I really love Antoine & I'm so glad everyone enjoyed him. Can't wait to give him his own comic. Lastly, my oldest persona. Thomas. He's grown with me a whole decade.
