The Rashomon Job is actually really funny
I fucking LOVE when shows do this thing where it shows the same events from multiple perspectives, and it's different each time, based on each person's memory and perception of the situation + making themselves look better.
(I'm exposing myself when I say the only other example I can think of is MLP: FiM 6x22 P.P.O.V (Pony Point Of View) which is hilarious btw)
Like everyone fucking up Sophie's accent, Hardison acting like the tiny multitool penknife is a huge kitchen knife, everyone speaking really strangely from Parker's perspective + her excitedly handing Eliot the knife. The way Hardison is shoving hors d'oeuvres into his pockets. Why does Sophie know that Hardison's fake identity has a shrimp allergy???? The naked security guard Hardison runs into carryover from Eliot's perspective where he stripped the guard and stole his clothes.
Also I love how Parker doesn't say anything until the other three tell there story and then she smiles and it's like
Leverage- The Rashomon Job (3x11)
+
Sophie and Eliot pretending it was a cute little knife while Hardison and Parker saw a bloody dagger
So what’s the truth?
Love is when you are excited to cut your boyfriends throat open because he fakes an allergic reaction to shrimp
Also that the whole Team is lacking social skills so everyone thought the security guy wanted to kill them with a gun until Nate finally revealed that it was a nice old grandpa who wanted to bring Sophie flowers
Did I really want to know that Sophie made out with Eliot?
Leverage 3x11
Hmm, I think I have an idea what this is about based on the title.
"You were in a cave in Afghanistan, probably." I mean.
Parker went to get Dad to settle it? Aww.
Hush, Eliot, I care.
Right, and why would you steal something if you don't even care about its historical value? I could never.
Hardison just magically appeared between Parker and Eliot between one shot and the next? Eh, let's roll with it.
Ooh, this is an interesting narrative mechanic.
Oof, Gina does not look steady in those shoes.
Ew.
Abernathy. Hah. Hello, Eliot. Well, Sophie's rather faulty recollection of Eliot.
Good casting, though.
Shotgun, really?
No padding in the dagger box, really? Tsk.
Well, this is a slightly more violent Eliot.
"If I'm not honest with you, you can't improve." 😂
Parker's the waitress, right?
Oh my god. 😂
Eliot you whore, button up your shirt.
Yeah, I thought that was what happened.
Including the shotgun.
Hi, Hardison?
Eliot! 😱
Also, how old was Hardison 5 years ago, 17?
...and he's the minister?? The other two remember as some middle-aged sleazebag?
Okay, sure, fine. Let's roll with it.
Oh Hardison.
And he remembers Eliot getting his flirt on with Sophie, huh? 😏
Scottish, Hardison, really?
Yeah, she really does. 😂
Oh my god. 😂
So, let's get this straight, Hardison's first impression of Eliot was 'sexy assassin'? Can't blame ya, mate.
C'mon Hardison, we all know who your girlfriend is, don't even try.
Poor Sophie. 😂
Parker barely registered anyone, because she wouldn't, but I like that she's the only one who saw Hardison as a dorky teen, basically.
Hah, the others portrayed Coswell as smart and competent, so of course Nate feels threatened. 😆 I know this is being portrayed as The Real Truth but let's not forget Nate is not fully objective either, especially when it comes to someone who was interested in Sophie.
Actually, now that I think of it, I'm not convinced Nate wasn't Coswell himself. Too many things subtly point to that.
Well, at least the final lesson was a good one: CEO's suck, let's take them down together.
This was a nice one. Actually a very well-executed Rashomon Effect, even if some bits were a bit nonsensical, baby Hardison as well-known Zimbabwean minister in particular.
