INTRO :: LONG JOURNEY ——— like butterfly wings
the end of the trimester marks a new point in hwang minjun’s life. through the many twists and turns, he’s gradually shaping himself and spreading his wings.
₊ ˟ realizing that she’d be getting to work with king of all people today makes allie that much more excited. considering king’s busy schedule and allie’s often not lining up with his, it’s been hard to get in touch with him but seeing him on her schedule did everything but put a smile on her face. truthfully, she’s happy to see him and even more excited for what’s to come for him. after all, he’s finally reaching his dream of debut - an actual debut, and getting to keep on the mantle of type zero to boot. it’s a lot to congratulate him for.
by the time he arrives, allie is smiles and sunshine. both her hands wave at him quickly before she holds them up to him and waits for high fives. “ king ~” she croons happily, keeping a tight hold of his hands and waving them with hers. “ i’m so happy for you! can you believe we get to work together today? it’s been so long since i’ve even gotten to see you -”

who you meet in heaven
all parents damage their children. it cannot be helped. youth, like pristine glass, absorbs the prints of its handlers. some parents smudge, others crack, a few shatter childhoods completely into jagged little pieces, beyond repair. m. albom
she feels as if rather than looking after any of the kids, she’s stuck babysitting the other legacy trainees. the dance workshop itself passes with a breeze, for they’re all in their natural element of singing, dancing, and performing to veer too off-track from the day’s schedule, but once they’re left to their own devices—well, let’s just say she’s never seen such chaos at a waterpark.
she’s used to it, though, for it’s akin to some kind of second nature for her to take care of others—no matter how young or old they be. so she gladly reprimands haru for not putting enough sunscreen on before playing in the water, and takes no shame in chastising king and subin because, no, it’s still not okay to be rough-housing with young children, even if it is just three feet of water.
though, she’ll admit she might’ve gone a bit overboard with arguing with ichika about the sanitation of the water (come on, they’re kids. of course they’re going to pee in the pool, she remembers from their conversation) before yumi and arin steal her away to, quite literally, cool off—and, of course, ahin’s laying in wait to ambush her with a water gun, leaving her soaked and defenseless without her own weapon to retaliate with.
she doesn’t even realize she’s been smiling this whole time.
it’s when she’s taking a break of her own that she finally catches a second to take in the surroundings: the content mothers with a couple or hours or so to breathe, to talk and confide in other soldiers on this battlefield called single motherhood. she overhears their conversations, the short yet distinctive words of praise for the trainees—who treat them like normal people, a concept so strangely unaccepted in everyday society.
it makes her think if that’s how people see her, at least, when she was growing up. not-normal, different, bad. a mostly-single father with a revolving door of stepmothers, barely enough half-siblings to count on one hand—is it really that bad? to have a family that’s so dissimilar from another’s?
maybe she’s reading too into it, or maybe she’s just been pushing the thought off until now. and when she looks at these kids, she wonders if they realize it, too. that it sucks to grow up without a father, just like she did without a mother.
how funny. she’s not entirely sure who has it worse.
House of Art #003
Wherein Soyoun and @lgcxking decorate tote bags in what is likely the most chaotic way possible
If there was a guest Soyoun was most nervous about, it was going to be King. After all, he had the scariest fan girls and if she said something wrong, they can easily demand her blood. That aside, King was a cool guy and clearly not interested in her, so she was relatively comfortable with him.
“I guess I’m glad I got my royal red carpet back from the laundromat in time for your episode,” Soyoun jokes once King is done introducing himself. “On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate your art skills?” Soyoun knows that this is information the fans would like to know, so she tries her best to feed their curiosity. After all, if she were a fan, she’d also be curious. After his answer, Soyoun says, “Before we start decorating tote bags, I’m afraid I have to make a request.” Soyoun can only hope King will humor her on this one. “Before we start doing art, I always ask my guests to do something with me.” To be fair, Soyoun had always wanted to see King do it. “You in? Repeat after me. Let’s get it! Skrrrrrt!”
❥ ° . CHARACTER UPDATES || MAY ‘20
QUICK OOC NOTE ‧ ‧ ‧ this is something i used to do on other muses ( modeled after an old friend ), so i’ll be making the addition here. this is a nice way to keep up with your character and their developments - so i definitely recommend ! it’s fun and interesting to see how your muse grows, and since jiao’s 1 MONTH passed here at legacy, i figured now would be a good time to start. i’ll try to do this often, towards the end of the month, but we’ll see how that goes 👍

⤷「close call.」
@lgcxking
The sound of alarm made him stumble midstep during dance practice, but thankfully, he was able to catch and straighten himself. Yonghwa fell easily in line as he was instructed, heading down the staircase with his fellow trainees.
If he was not so tired from the long day of practice, perhaps he would have reacted more to the potential fire. His mind began drifting even as his body continued to move, blissfully blank for the first today since dawn.
A loud oh shit somewhere behind him caught his attention and Yonghwa whipped around to see absolute chaos. Someone must have stumbled and attempted to use the person in front of him as a means of support. Unfortunately, caught unprepared, the person in front of him wasn’t able to act as a pillar and caused the domino effect instead.
"Get out of the way!” Yonghwa called out to give people in front of him a better chance but knew it was already too late for himself.
Sure enough, the collision occurred. The other trainee fell on him in full and Yonghwa, through his sheer force of will, managed to not swear. Public image, he reminded himself, even under extreme circumstances. “Are you okay?” Yonghwa asked, brushing his bangs aside so he could get a closer look at the other trainee. Oh, how he wished he didn’t do that because the sight of Tsai King’s face so close up made him die a little inside.
“Didn’t break a leg, did you?” He whispered, voice still holding concern, only now purely artificial. “That would be so terrible.”
