This Is Not a Drill
So I've been trying to start a blog on and off. The problem was always, what would I write about? I have a ton of interests--food, travel, music, health, activities, arts, fashion, blah blah blah yes I'm perfect (kidding). But my mood changes all the time. Whatever is high on my interest list changes all the time. So I've decided to just blog about...life after 35. That gives me unlimited bandwidth to discuss anything right??? But from the point of view from someone born in 1979.
I never thought that at 35 I'd be single. So I have a lot of time and thoughts on my hands. Nearly all of my friends are married with kids, so life is different when you're 35 and the lone singular girl in the group. I love my friends, but I find that I can't really talk to them about all my interests because they're in a different phase--the diaper stage, the moving into the suburbs phase, the finding a nanny phase, etc. Having conversations with them about new restaurants, bars, places to visit, TV shows, and all that jazz doesn't happen anymore because they don't have time for all those things.
So, this will be my creative outlet...a place to ramble and keep a diary what it's like to be at that stage of your life where you just realized it's almost been 18 years since you were 18. GAH. I never understood how older people always said they still 'felt young' but now I do. I don't know what 35 is supposed to feel like, but I don't feel like I'm in my mid-30s. I'm too immature about a lot of things! But I know I'm also super responsible and have achieved a lot (career-wise and home equity-wise) for myself. Anyway, let the rambling begin...
