Míriel had always enjoyed the midsummer festival - the fruits were always at their sweetest, and the celebrations most lively. The crowd had been gathering since early morning, and now under the full golden light of Laurelin things were in full swing. Musicians played beautiful compositions, wine flowed freely, and the great square was full of dancers.

The young needlewoman made her way carefully through the throng, looking for old friends to share a drink with, and perhaps a dance if they felt tempted. Taking a piece of fruit from a platter as she passed by a heavily laden table, she tucked it into a pocket and carried on. She turned a corner and came face to face with one of the last people she had expected to be hiding away from the dancing. Nonetheless, Míriel's face broke into a warm smile. "Indis! What are you doing here?"
