“-?” Well, that was definitely a sight. Yuuya knew there’d always been two people living in the room a few doors down from him; but seeing the other male out on his own was almost like a cryptic sighting in itself. His name was...Yusaku, right? 

“Hey, aren’t you that guy Ruri’s been looking for for some reason? She said something about it being important”

Yukino was well aware that it was perfectly okay for twins to not tell each other every little thing.  It was perfectly acceptable for them to keep secrets from each other, and Yusaku was under no obligation to relay all the information about his events since their separation of several months.

But a boyfriend?  A boyfriend, aka someone whom his brother is having romantic ( and possibly more ) relations with?  How could Yusaku not tell him about this?! Yukino was shocked when he found out; his brother had been in another room when his phone buzzed, and the younger twin just so happened to glance down at the screen.

Whoever the hell this ❛ Ryoken ❜ person was, that was a lot of flirty text symbols with the promise of a date to be just a simple friend.  So Yukino never mentioned to his brother that he was aware of the follow day’s date, and decided to slip out that morning to wait at some hole-in-the-wall diner that was the location of the meet up.

When a tall ( and rather handsome ) man slips into the booth across from Yukino, the twin simply takes a long sip of the coffee he ordered as he gives him a glance-over.  

Yusaku definitely knows how to land the hotties.

who hogs the duvetThey definitely switch off, when one steals it and the other wakes up because they’re cold and then they steal it back. However, they never speak of it in the morning and would never admit to anyone that it happens.

who texts/rings to check how their day is goingYuzu definitely, but Masumi always appreciates it and thinks its adorable, even if she teases her about being needy and unable to be apart from her.

who’s the most creative when it comes to giftsAgain, Yuzu. Masumi mostly just gives her gems with special meaning in relation to everything to do with Yuzu and their relationship, but that’s about as creative as she gets.

who gets up first in the morningMasumi, and she usually has breakfast ready if not in bed for Yuzu when she finally gets up. 

who suggests new things in bedMasumi. She may not be creative with gifts, but she is extremely creative and adventurous in the bedroom, though she’s always respectful of the fact Yuzu might not want to quite try everything, and never pushes her to do anything she’s uncomfortable with.

who cries at moviesYuzu, and Masumi adores comforting her and snuggling her when she does.

who gives unprompted massagesMasumi. She’s very touchy feely with the right person, and she doesn’t feel everything needs to be sexual. If Yuzu seems stiff at all, Masumi is there to rub out the knots and try and help her feel better.

who fusses over the other when they’re sickThey both do. Yuzu enjoys it when Masumi does, Masumi get’s annoyed.

who gets jealous easiestMasumi. As someone who doesn’t surround herself with many people, and knowing she’s not always the easiest to be around, she worries eventually Yuzu will grow tired of her and find someone better suited to her bright and cheery personality. She does not want to lose her.

who has the most embarrassing taste in musicI don’t think either do, and I think they’d both be into trying new things musically, just to explore it.

who collects something unusualI’m not sure gemstones are unusual? But between gifting them to Yuzu all the time and having a collection of her own, their house would practically be covered in them.

who takes the longest to get readyYuzu, and Masumi hates it. Sometimes, she lies and tells her they need to be places earlier than they do so Yuzu will be ready for the actual time which is later than Masumi told her. It sometimes starts fights between them.

who is the most tidy and organisedMasumi. She is extremely concerned with being sure everything is in its proper place at all times.

who gets most excited about the holidaysYuzu, and Masumi enjoys watching her get adorably excited over the smallest things.

who is the big spoon/little spoonGenerally Masumi is the big spoon and Yuzu the little, but they do switch off every once in a while. 

who gets most competitive when playing games and/or sportsBoth. As duelists, they can get very into competitions even with each other, and they usually put some sort of bet in place to heighten the stakes.

who starts the most argumentsMasumi. Hands down. Do I even need to explain this?

who suggests that they buy a petYuzu, and Masumi is extremely hesitant and forces Yuzu to do all sorts of research before she agrees.

what couple traditions they haveThough its unconventional, they duel every year on the same day they first dueled each other, the day they met, at Masumi’s insistence. 

what tv shows they watch togetherUsually whatever Yuzu wants. Masumi doesn’t really care for tv, but she does sometimes get invested in things Yuzu will, especially if its some sort of thriller, though she’d never admit she actually likes and wants to watch the show. But she’s always upset when Yuzu watches those ones without her...

what other couple they hang out withHm, this one is actually kind of tough? I’m not sure what other couples would be around, but I do suppose they’d want to hang out with their respective friends and whoever their partners might be. 

how they spend time together as a coupleThey’re very in sync and affectionate towards each other. They love to go out for dinner or to museums and musicals and other such entertainment. Masumi loves to teach Yuzu about things in museums she knows about that the other doesn’t, and it can be completely adorable.

who made the first moveMasumi, and cannonly too. I will never forget the Crystal Rose scene and no one will ever convince me that was not at least somewhat romantic.

who brings flowers homeYuzu.

who is the best cookThey mostly enjoy cooking together, I’m not sure I’d say one is a better cook than the other.

❝  . .Hey, Ryo’n. ❞  The whisper of the taller male’s name could barely be heard, even in the silence of the dorm room.  Yukino had been insistent that he was fine by himself, but Yusaku wasn’t having any of it.  A ❛ buddy system ❜ had been set in place among their group, and no one was allowed to explore the grounds without being with someone else in their group.

So while Yusaku spent some time with Takeru, Ryoken had been left alone with Yukino.  It wasn’t as if the younger twin minded this, but he didn’t like feeling like he was being babied.  Granted, there was the constant threat of murder going around, but still!

❝ Do you think we’ll all make it out alive?  You, me, Ta’ru, and Yusa? ❞

❝ Just where the hell is this place?. . . ❞  Yukino couldn’t help but muttered under his breath as he pulled the cowl of his hood further over his face, his gaze scanning the crowd for any signs of recognizable faces.  Which, knowing his social circle, is only three people. Surely one of those three people is his brother.  

It took him several minutes, but Yukino eventually found a familiar face, the one identical to his own.

❝ Yusa!  Yusa, what is this weird circus act that we’re at? ❞

Headcanons Galore! ( still accepting, but probably selectively )

ooc // Ah, I fucking love the twins, I don’t even know if you know how much that is.  Anyway, onto my headcanons that you are free to agree or disagree with!

1. Yusaku is one of the three people ( and for the longest time, only person ) who Yukino has shortened the name of for easier usage.  While he normally calls his brother “Yusa”, he will sometimes call him “Yusa-nii” in an attempt to be playful.  This is doubly so in LINK VRAINS, where he calls him “Playa-nii” after his identity reveal.

Also, around most others, Yukino does his best to call Yusaku by his actual name, but he often slips up.

2. Both twins try to protect each other from harm, but in different ways.  Yusaku prefers to leave Yukino out of his battle with the Knights of Hanoi ( and other people as of late ), but Yukino prefers to follow and protect his twin.  He will be the first to combat any foe so Playmaker can travel ahead, and his main purpose for dueling is to stall foes and support his brother ( and Soulburner, technically ) in any possible tag battles.

Yusaku is not happy about this.

3. A lot of Yukino’s actions have the consequence of getting or threatening to get punched by Yusaku.  Sorry Yusaku that you have a socially inept and blunt af twin to babysit in public.  He’s trying, I promise.

4. While it is very hard to tell Yusaku and Yukino apart by physical means ( and by hard, I mean virtually impossible ), the one clear way to tell them apart is the fact that Yukino is never seen without his trusty headphones on his head or around his neck.  New people or people completely unaware of Yukino’s existence may just assume Yusaku occasionally wears headphones, but others know the difference.

Ofc, this changes if you decide to also give Yusaku a matching pair xD
