FAN FICTION #42 Korra x Asami
Another one shot, but this one is a bit darker than the others I've posted for this Korrasami Week.
Liquid Limbo by Roaming Spirit ( jo-jo-the-quokka) summary: "Losing your life is not the worst thing that can happen. The worst thing is to lose your reason for living."
Korra is plagued by her nightmares. They're always there, lurking in the corners of her mind. She is absolutely exhausted and can't take anymore. That's when she discovers alcohol.
Everyone thinks the anger is because she is getting back to her old self, but one person really notices that something is wrong. It's Asami, and after observing this behavior for some time, she decides to find out what's causing it.
The "alcohol as a coping device" route isn't one I come across too often when I'm reading Korrasami fics set after the end of season 3, but it certainly is an interesting take. It makes sense and definitely brings Korra down to a more real level. Usually we get fics where Korra is plagued by emptiness and depression, but not really with alcohol involved. It's an interesting and quick one shot to add to the list.
