One Piece and Don Quixote
Pssst, all you One Piece lovers, I guarantee that you'll love the classic novel Don Quixote as well.
A great English translation, if you can't read it in Spanish, is the Edith Grossman edition (I'm not familiar with other language editions, sorry). There are literally so many references in OP to DQ that once you understand them, your viewing/reading experience will be sooooo enriched.
The most obvious example is Donquixote Doflamingo and his brother, Rocinante, (name of the protagonist and his horse) but there are countless references throughout the entire show. For example, Gan Fall from Skypiea seems to also be a pretty direct reference to DQ or at least to the practice of knight errantry, Luffy's hometown of Windmill Village, and, generally, a lot of literary techniques in OP originated/were popularized by DQ. It's been a really fun experience to read a classic through the lense of a modern masterpiece like OP. Media like this that can travel through time and space are what make enjoying art and literature so exciting.
