@litmospheric​​ i think she got a fair bit from each of them!! honestly none of her features are exactly like either of them, they’re more like a combination + some things that skipped the generation before. but the auburn hair is pretty distinct! (also stevie & owen naturally have the same skintone but owen’s been going to tanning beds because... midlife crisis... same reason he got his ears pierced and dresses like he’s still in high school lmao)

i love love love your story! i found it a few weeks ago and have been obsessively reading since. i absolutely love the little details and everything you've done to make the story realistic! a question for you, though: with ned as the next heir, how will things change in the way of your story? will things change, or is that more of a necessity kind of thing, having an heir?

So, to answer your question...

I started my story 100% as a legacy gameplay, just to document my little family. Back then, I was following all the decades challenge rules and its character restrictions. But it organically evolved into something else as my characters started becoming real to me... And, to be fair, I don’t even think I can call what I’m doing a “legacy/decades challenge” anymore. I’m even contemplating giving the story a proper name or dropping the “gen. 1/ gen. 2″ terms.

Anyways.

Ned is still going to be the heir but I’m not going to follow him exclusively. I think it’s only natural to continue with the “novel/series” format, having different arcs.

Beth is more or less a main character, but everyone related to her life and/or character growth will be explored in “gen. 2″, even if just a little. Characters ranging from obvious ones, such as Ned & Sue, to minor ones like Mary’s mother and some of the girls’ childhood friends.

THAT BEING SAID. I’m not following any rules anymore and am basically telling a story like any other at this point! We will keep up with Ned just as much as we will keep up with William, Tim, Matthew etc. etc. (I counted the other day and I have around 50 characters with little to huge impact in the story I’m going to lose my mind).

omg yeah all the time!! i want to show him at rosie & isa's house more often bc in my mind he can walk there (from his moms' house) so i'm sure he goes over there a lot to be spoiled with food and random gifts ;-; and to gossip and watch jeopardy and learn new life skills bc retirement is boring and they have nothing else to do ksjfksk and stevie comes along sometimes but she can't handle sitting on the porch and just knitting for hours (no matter how much she loves her grandmas) lmao

sjfjks i actually put way too much thought into their seating arrangements; jada put her backpack on her right side so no one would try to sit next to her. casper would normally have his whole group with him, but talon/iris/sylvia are sitting elsewhere now and they were momentarily replaced with Random Football Players 1 & 2 (tom’s still there though ofc). and stevie had to hold elaine’s seat for her because they both bounce around the cafeteria so much, taking turns talking to everyone :’) so yeah, i do way too much for this story but i’m happy you liked the detail fjskdjs 💖

hey! out of curiosity, how far do you feel like DSV is from Brindleton (that's where they're living, right?)? bc in my brain, it's similar to CA, and a New England style town seems so far from CA. just curious to see your thoughts!!

yeah i wanted them to fly, but the airplane i needed was deleted and i couldn’t find anyone who had the file :( so realistically the drive would be like 2 days long, but in terms of sims it might be a shorter drive, because there are less states in between! or at least that’s what i’m telling myself to make it slightly less ridiculous jksjd
