no one sent me this, I’m just doing this because, wow, I just automatically started mentally filling this out. for @littledetective ( tags @curlybrxws too ) [ cameos by @inbloomings and @daughterofthesleuth / @mxneyminded ]
so leave a brotp/platonic ship in my ask and i’ll tell you:
who steals french fries off the other’s plate: Kaito would definitely steal french fries from Shinichi’s plate, and even though he could do it without detection ( at least, until there’s a significantly noticeable number of fries, which for Shinichi would probably mean two ), he’s bold enough that he literally just takes a fry off of Shinichi’s plate without hiding it at all. Shinichi usually glares at him, and if Kaito tries it more than once, Shinichi tends to smack his hand.
who jokingly moves in for the kiss when someone asks if they’re a couple: Uh, Kaito. Unless the person who is asking is Fumi, then he moves to kiss her, and Shinichi just kind of rolls his eyes and looks disgruntled. If it’s a complete stranger, then Shinichi ends up pushing Kaito and glaring at the person.
who has to bust or bail the other out of jail: Kaito would never get arrested ( either as Kaito or as Kid ), but neither would Shinichi. However, in regards to their ‘flying under the radar ability’, Kaito would be less likely to get arrested than Shinichi. Although, to be fair, Kaito would probably laugh himself sick if Shinichi found himself in holding ( in jail is another story because sticking a famous detective in a jail where there’s probably been criminals he’s caught in there? Not. Good ).
who gives the other advice/comfort about dating issues: Honestly, they both give each other advice and comfort about dating issues. Shinichi, being friends with Fumi, has seen a lot of their problems and been in the middle of them ( and caused one of them, since Kaito keeping ‘Shinichi-is-actually-Conan’ a secret got them into a long, technically one-sided since Kaito didn’t really ‘argue’, fight ). If Shinichi ever talks to Kaito, Kaito would probably offer genuine advice, but that hasn’t happened yet.
who shamelessly cheats at games by reaching over to cover the other’s eyes: They both do because they’re both shameless assholes.
who immediately calls dibs on the top bunk: Kaito does, as he did when they went to college together and ended up becoming roommates. Seriously, neither of them planned for it, even though they knew they were going to the same university.
who starts and who wins the pillow fights: Shinichi actually ends up starting and winning most of the pillow fights. Kaito tends to give a good fight, but any time Kaito seems to be getting the upper hand, Shinichi totally cheats and “accidentally” tickles Kaito.
who says “your pants would look better on their floor” to the other’s potential crush: Before Kaito started dating Fumi, it would definitely be Kaito, but since dating Fumi, he tends to stop doing flirting like that ( to girls, at least, and especially as Kuroba Kaito ). Shinichi would never do that to Fumi on account that he loves Fumi too much platonically, and both Ran and Kaito would probably murder him. Fumi would keep him alive and make his life hell instead.
Okay, guys, I’m going to make a little timeline of the verse with @inbloomings and @littledetective and @daughterofthesleuth for my own ( and maybe yours ) reference, so, like, let me know if there’s anything you want me to edit / add.
So, the verse spans around two years thus far, and notable things to note are:
1. At some point, Conan turns back into Shinichi ( and maybe takes down the B.O.? ) 2. At some point after Conan turns back into Shinichi, Fumi finds out and doesn’t talk to the two for probably a month. 3. Kaito is still Kaitō Kid and hasn’t found PANDORA nor taken down his criminal organisation. / Shinichi still doesn’t know anything about this and Fumi knows probably most if not all. 4. While Kaito and Fumi are both a year younger than Shinichi, they’re in the same grade due to the time Shinichi has lost being Conan. So, Kaito and Fumi are eighteen and Shinichi is nineteen by the time they graduate. 5. Therefore, they all go to university and graduate at the same time and in the same year. 6. We could maybe tie this in to the college roommate verse ?? Ariel ??? idk if Fumi is going to the same college tho ???? we’ll have to talk about that ?????? 7. Kaito and Fumi have been dating for two years when they’re about to go to university. 8. I have no idea what’s happening on the Shinichi x Ran side lmao

hazels blinked , her figure halting on her tracks. Swiftly turning around she found a little boy with glasses, rubbing his head, in which she could assume had been cause by a collision against...her figure? perhaps they were too lost in the clouds to realize there had been people ahead of him, some too close enough to go against each other.
Normally, if this were an adult or any other pretentious kind of person she would have winged it and continue on with her life. It was not her fault anyway, but children were something she had a particular fondness of. Hence she crouched slightly and patted the boy’s head lightly, with a light smile.
