@multi-fandoms-posts - Thanks for the suggestion! I took some creative liberties but this is based on a suggestion they gave me.
@voltsm - Thanks for the encouragement! This person is an INCREDIBLE artist, I highly recommend looking at their amazing amazing blog!
A/N: This is the first Sanders Sides one shot I've written in a while, but I think it turned out well! Please don't repost on different websites, but reblogs are greatly appreciated!
Remus paced his room, growling in frustration. His mind wandered back to the conversation all the sides had earlier.
"Let's do a Secret Santa!" Patton had said, looking like he was going to burst from excitement.
Roman nodded enthusiastically. "That's a great idea, padre!"
"I'm up for it if you guys are," Virgil replied with a shrug.
"I do believe that doing a Secret Santa could be beneficial to our mental and emotional health," said Logan, pushing up his glasses.
All of them looked at Janus and Remus, catching both of them off guard.
"You'd really be okay with us joining?" Remus asked.
"Of course! We are famILY, after all!" Patton responded happily. Remus looked at Janus, who simply shrugged.
"I think the Secret Santa is an awful idea and wouldn't like to participate," Janus said with a small smirk.
"Why not!" Remus happily agreed.
Yet here he was now, flopping on his bed, and ironically out of ideas. He summoned something to eat, and wasn't sure if it was deodorant, a sandwich, or some ungodly abomination of both. At this point he didn't care.
He stared at the faint strip of paper labeled "Janus." Each of them had grabbed a paper from Janus's hat, and Remus had been pretty excited when he got the name of his best friend. Until he couldn't figure out what to get him.
"I'm CREATIVITY, and I've been his friend the longest! I should know what to get him!" he angrily muttered to himself. "Who am I kidding... I'm just intrusive thoughts."
"Hey Rem-" Roman said, rising up in his brother's room. He instantly stopped when he saw the poorly disguised bags under Remus's eyes. "...you okay?"
"Not really," Remus mumbled into his blankets, "why'd you come?"
Roman paused for a second. "Wellll I was having some trouble coming up with a gift for the person I got, so I was wondering if you could help. However, it looks like your having some trouble too."
Remus looked up at Roman, noticing the bags he had under his eyes as well.
"Creative block," they both muttered at the same time.
Remus laughed for the first time in days. "Wow, even the creativity gets it," he said with a teasing smirk.
"I think you mean creativities. We are both creativity, after all!" Roman happily replied. He began ranting about something he was trying to make, but Remus didn't hear a word.
Both creativity, he thought as he began to smile again, he thinks we're both creativity?
"Rem? Remus?" Roman asked.
"Oh, sorry! What'd you say? Remus asked, snapping out of his thoughts.
"What should I get Virgil?" Roman asked again.
"Virgil?"
"Yeah, Gerard Gay isn't the best at dropping hints at what he wants."
"Hm... what do you know he likes? Put yourself in his shoes. Or his-"
"MUSIC HE LIKES MUSIC!" Roman quickly interrupted. "He likes listening to music!"
Remus laughed a loud, full, laugh, making Roman smile and laugh a little as well. "If you were Virgil, what would you want?"
Roman pondered the question for a couple minutes, then suddenly shot up with an idea. "OH! I KNOW WHAT TO GET HIM! Thanks Remus!"
"No problem Roman, just remember to-" Remus began, then looked at Roman who narrowed his eyes in suspicion, "toooooo... wish him a Merry Christmas!"
"Nice save," Roman chuckled, making Remus beam. "Do you want some help figuring out what to give who you have?"
Remus sighed, mumbling a tired "I don't know," into his pillows.
"Hm... well just remember what you told me," Roman said, "what would you want if you were them?" Remus opened his mouth with a mischevious smirk, to which Roman added, "rule of thumb, if you wouldn't want Patton to get mad or pass out, don't give it as a gift." Remus immediately shut his mouth.
Remus sighed and groaned into his pillow, exhausted from having no ideas.
"Let's see... you can make things, summon things-" Roman started.
"Wait, summon things, like animals?" Remus asked.
"Of course! If you wanted to, that is. Although I'd suggest not making it lethal," Roman replied with a smile.
Remus grinned. "Thanks Ro, I think I have an idea!"
"That's great! Let me know if you'd like any help!"
"Thanks!"
Remus smiled to himself as Roman left, carefully working on his idea for Janus. He was certain it would be amazing.
~CHRISTMAS DAY~
"CHRISTMAS, CHRISTMAS, CHRISTMAS!" Patton excitedly shouted, waking everyone up in the process.
Patton had insisted on a sleepover on Christmas Eve, and none of them had the heart to deny the request.
Virgil yawned, failing to hide the small smile on his face as he noticed Roman stretch, hair messily falling down on his face.
"Nice bedhead Princey," Virgil teased.
Roman playfully glared, clutching his heart as if in agony.
"Why, Emo Nightmare, must you wound me like this? How could you DARE insist that, I, PRINCE Roman, have a-" he tilted his head back dramatically, causing him to see his reflection in a mirror and let out a very un-prince like squawk.
"I'll make the hot cocoa and then we can do the Secret Santa!" Patton exclaimed, rushing to the kitchen.
"I can assist you Patton," Logan offered, putting on his glasses.
"Thanks Logie!" Patton replied, making Logan blush at the nickname.
Remus and Janus slowly woke up as well, both a little excited although hesitant admit it.
"Well, this is not how I wanted to be woken up," Janus mumbled to himself with a soft smile on his face, oblivious to a blushing Remus looking at him. When he looked back and saw Remus staring at him, a faint blush spread behind his scales.
"Hey Janus, there's chaos and I didn't cause it!" Remus said, turning away to hide his blush.
"I'm not surprised, and I don't think you'll add to the chaos as soon as you can-" Janus began, only to see Remus already gone and probably eating something inedible.
After the chaos had died down (Roman brushed his hair and they dragged back Remus from eating Christmas lights), it was finally time for the Secret Santa to begin.
"Me first!" Patton said, rushing to grab the gift he had gotten. As soon as he found it he ran back to put it in Logan's lap. "This is my Secret Santa gift to you!"
"Do... do they know what a SECRET Santa is supposed to be?" Janus whispered to Remus who was sitting next to him, raising an eyebrow.
After taking a moment to collect himself, Logan carefully unwrapped the gift. Inside were multiple sci-fi series that he had been looking for.
"I knew you had been looking for those books, so I got them for you!" Patton exclaimed, voice nearly shaking from excitement.
For a moment, Logan was stunned into silence. However, he quickly recovered and replied with "t-thank you Patton, I deeply appreciate the thought put into this. I look forward to reading them."
Patton quietly peeped a quick "you're welcome," butterflies in his chest from the touched look on Logan's face. Logan suddenly turned back around, handing a small wrapped gift to Patton. "It's not the best, but I hope it's satisfactory."
Patton quickly looked up, momentarily caught up in the euphoria of gifts. He tore into the present to find a small, blue, crotche cat with a tiny heart on it's ear.
"Aww, Logan!!! This is purrrr-fect!"
Logan tried to roll his eyes at the pun, but couldn't keep a small laugh from escaping.
"Me next!" Roman sang dramatically, heading over to Virgil with a carefully wrapped gift and taking a seat next to him.
Virgil carefully opened his gift, slowly taking off the tape and removing the wrapping paper. Roman bounced up and down next to him, both in nervousness and excitement.
After what felt like forever to Roman, Virgil pulled out a dark purple set of headphones, with a black thorn pattern carved into them.
"Woah Princey... did you MAKE these?" Virgil asked, completely in shock at the care put into the headphones he held.
"Yep!" Roman responded giddily. "It took a lot of time, but I figured it out! The thorns were a last minute touch though. Oh! And they also block out other sounds, you had mentioned that your current headphones didn't do that a while ago."
Virgil, one of the most reserved sides, looked like he was on the verge of tears. "Thanks... I didn't realize you cared that much Roman," he said quietly, hiding his blushing face in his sleeves and gently leaning against him.
Roman gave him a soft, genuine smile as Virgil leaned against his arm. "Of course Stormcloud!"
"This is your present... it's awful compared to the headphones though..." Virgil mumbled, shyly taking his head out of his hands and giving Roman a shiny red bag with lots of tissue paper.
Roman being Roman, he quickly (and messily) opened up the gift, squealing when he pulled out a thin but elegant red crown. "It's a CROWN, put it on me, put it on me, put it on me!"
Virgil hesitantly put it Roman, who squealed impossibly louder after turning around and seeing his reflection in the mirror. "I love it!!!"
Roman hugged Virgil tightly, and after the initial shock, Virgil relaxed into the hug. To Roman's surprise, he stayed leaning against him even when the hug had ended. He didn't mind.
"Since it isn't obvious who your gift is from now, here's yours Remus," Janus said, handing a rather large bag to Remus.
Remus immediately tore into the bag, clawing his way in through the side instead of taking out the tissue paper. He gasped in astonishment when he pulled out a long, intricate sword, identical to the one of his logo.
"Woahhhh..." he whispered under his breath, admiring the sword. He looked up at Janus, a huge grin on his face. "Thanks!!"
Janus smiled, secretly relieved that Remus did enjoy his gift.
"I have your gift... I just didn't really have a way to wrap it," Remus said, a hint of nervousness in his voice. "So, uh, hold out your hands and close your eyes."
"Remus, is this something appropriate?"
"Yep!"
Janus raised an eyebrow but did as Remus had asked. A second later, he heard a collective gasp from around the room, followed by something placed in his hand.
"You can open your eyes now."
Janus slowly opened his eyes, shocked to find a small, yellow snake that fit in the palm of his hand. His eyes widened, and for a brief second his face shone like the universe had been placed in his eyes.
"You like it?" Remus asked.
Janus nodded vigorously, at a loss for words but as absolutely adoring the snake that slithered in his hand.
After opening the rest of the gifts, all the sides stayed together for a Christmas movie night. Patton was asleep on a dreaming Logan, and Virgil was asleep against a sleepy Roman who wrapped his arms around him.
"Hey, Janus?" Remus asked, yawning.
Janus looked over.
"Did... did you really like my gift?"
Janus smiled a true, genuine smile, reserved oy for Remus, and kissed Remus's forehead softly, making them both blush. "I loved it."
As Remus soon fell asleep against Janus, the slimey snake boi only had one thought.
Rigging the Secret Santa was definitely worth it.
We stan the glasses gays
Just a bit more ice cream
Logicality
"Pretty please, Logan?" Patton asked his husband for the fifth time.
"No, Patton. I love you, but no means no." Logan sighed as he pushed the shopping cart.
"Pleeeeeeeease?" Patton emphasized, holding a carton of ice cream in front of him.
"Honey. We have two unfinished cartons of ice cream at home. We do not need more." Logan reasoned with him, though he'd already told Patton this already.
"But I heard this brand is soooooo good! Roman told me so! They've got rare flavors like red velvet, double raspberry, s'mores, cotton candy, Crofters-" Patton went on.
Logan froze in place, silent but contemplating. "...We can get one carton, but on two conditions." he said firmly.
"Yes! What is it?" Patton cheered.
"One, you have to finish off the other two cartons before we buy more. Two, we get the Crofters flavor." Logan smiled.
Patton gave Logan a hug and a kiss on the cheek, and Logan returned the sentiment.
Grey Mornings
Fandom: Thomas Sanders, Sanders Sides Pairing: Logicality, Logan x Patton Contents: Soft boi Summary: Sometimes you just need a rainy morning to reflect on things A/N: Yes hello. I still write. This is not much but it is something. I might add onto this later when I am not as tired and feeling like I'm gonna fall asleep at my desk.
~~
Rain pattered softly on the window, blurring Logan’s view of things outside as he watched the patterns drawn on the glass. He knew the rain was cold, it was November afterall. The chill that could have been present was chased away by the presence of the other man curled against him. A soft smile pulled at Logan’s lips as he looked over the smaller man, running a hand gently through his fluffy hair. A chuckle was pulled from him as Patton snuggled even closer with a small sleepy smile.
If you had asked him years ago, Logan would have told you love was something for others. It was something that would not be for him. Previous experiences combined with a surprisingly low self esteem told him that people wouldn’t care for him in the same way he would. So why bother?
It wasn’t long after that when he met Patton, a man who seemed intent on changing his mind. Patton loved everyone and was not shy about showing it, even to his friends. That was how it started out, the two became friends and the first time that Patton mentioned that he loved Logan, the man was frozen. Patton had worried he had said something wrong, not seeing the harm in saying the words so freely. Later it was explained that Logan wasn’t used to it. He hadn’t really been around people who were so open with their love and it had caught him off.
It seemed to only grow from there. The entire situation made Logan quite aware of his feelings towards the bubbly man. It was something he couldn’t really deny anymore, no matter how much he had tried. He looked at Patton, so ready to smile and say “I love you” and compared him to himself, seemingly cold and quiet. He rarely spoke his feelings, quite content to let them sit.
When Patton confessed his feelings it was the other time that he had caused Logan to lock up. He froze, staring down at the man in shock. His mind was running with different questions but the main one was “Really?” Then it sank in what was said and the blush rose over his cheeks. He agreed, and Patton shouted in excitement before hugging the man. Both found themselves on the floor from how enthusiastic Patton was.
A soft groan from his side brought Logan back to the present. He pulled away a bit, watching as Patton stirred awake.
“Well good afternoon.” He spoke gently, almost silent over the sound of the rain.
Constellations
This is for my friend @justagaygoosehoard who requested "could you do a sanders sides fic with logicality? Maybe like, stargazing and some mutual pining?" And I am very happy to deliver!
Fandom: Sanders Sides
Genre: Fluff
Pairings/Characters: Logicality, Patton, Logan, Virgil (mentioned), Roman (mentioned)
Word Count: 1355 (I think this is the longest fluffy piece I've ever written)
Warnings: None
Please Do Not Hesitate To Tell Me If I Need To Include More
It was late, probably after midnight, and Patton didn’t know why he was awake. He had gone to sleep at a rather reasonable time (around 11:30) and could not figure out what had woken him up. He’d been having a rather pleasant dream of him and the others having a game night out in the living room, playing charades (which Virgil was surprisingly good at), Pictionary (which Roman was extraordinarily good at), and Scrabble (which Logan was beyond good at; then again, Logan was amazing at everything).
Now, however, he was up, and wide awake at that.
Deciding that he was probably just thirsty, Patton pulled himself out of bed and tiptoed down the stairs to the kitchen to get a glass of water. Not wanting to wake any of the others, Patton did his best to be as silent as possible.
There was enough light shining in through the open curtains from the night sky outside that he didn’t need to turn on any lights to see what he was doing. After pouring himself a small glass of water, Patton went to stand by the window for a moment, wanting to look at the stars.
Then, he noticed a familiar figure lying in the grass outside and put down his glass to go check it out.
“Logan?” Patton called softly when he opened the front door.
Logan didn’t lift his head from the grass but he did respond back, “Good evening, Patton. What are you doing awake at this hour?”
Patton shrugged and went to lay down beside Logan, pillowing his hands behind his head. “I don’t know. I woke up for some reason and decided it was probably because I was thirsty so I came downstairs to get some water and noticed you out here.”
Patton couldn’t help but stare at Logan. The way the starlight illuminated his face, his dark blue eyes becoming oceans in the light of the moon. He was gorgeous, ethereal. Laying in the grass, gazing up at the stars that reflected into his eyes and shone in his smile, Patton couldn’t help but think that no other moment could ever be this perfect.
Logan tried to ignore Patton’s presence beside him, but it was impossible. Patton just had a way of drawing attention, like he was magnetic. His presence could fill up a room as soon as he entered. And as illogical as this all was, Logan couldn’t deny that it was simply fact.
Therefore, it came as no surprise when Logan finally gave in and looked over at Patton only to immediately be shocked speechless by the sight that greeted him.
Patton almost seemed to glow in the moonlight; the freckles dusting his cheeks looked like a reflection of the stars above them and his pale blue irises had turned to silver reflections of the moon itself as he gazed up at the sky. A soft smile was spread across his face, eyes just barely crinkling at the corners. His chest rose and fell in a slow, steady beat, even breaths huffing from his nose.
Logan thought that he had never looked more beautiful.
“Will you teach me about the constellations?” Patton asked suddenly, after lying quietly with Logan for a few minutes.
“Hm?”
Patton slowly turned his head to find Logan staring at him. “What? Do I have something on my face?” Patton asked, lifting a hand from behind his head to check his face.
“Huh? Oh, no, there is nothing on your face, Patton.” Logan startled out of his reverie. “I was merely distracted.” Looking at you went unsaid. “What were you asking?”
“Oh! I was just wondering if you would teach me about some of the constellations,” Patton said, and Logan couldn’t be sure, since it was dark, but he thought he saw a light blush dust Patton’s cheeks.
“Of course; I’d love to.” Logan couldn’t fight the grin that spread across his face.
Scooting closer so that their shoulders were touching and their heads were pressed together, Logan reached a hand up and pointed to Orion. “See those three big stars right there? Forming a line?” He asked.
Patton squinted up at the sky for a moment, searching for the stars that Logan had mentioned and trying to follow the line of his finger before he spotted them. “Yeah, what are they?”
“Those stars are called Alnitak, Alnilam and Mintaka. They make up part of the constellation Orion, they are often referred to as Orion’s Belt, or the Belt of Orion.” Logan said. “Orion is an archer from Greek myth. The Greeks often believed that heroes were placed in the sky as stars when they died. Orion was a demigod son of Poseidon, the god of the sea. Orion was fast, light-footed, and had the ability to walk on water which he obtained from his father. He ended up blinded for… reasons we shall not name as they are utterly atrocious. Now, this blindness did not last very long. The next day, Orion had a young boy lead him out to watch the dawn and his blindness was cured. This is because Orion’s lover is Eos, the personification of Dawn.
“Orion, after regaining his sight, travels to the island of Crete where he meets Artemis, goddess of wild animals, the hunt, vegetation, chastity, and childbirth. She is impressed by Orion’s skill, which is nearly a match for her own. Now, Artemis is a maiden goddess, she is sworn to never lay with a man and prefers to avoid them all together. However, because Orion has so impressed her, she invites him on a hunt with her, to help the people of Crete.
“Things are going well with their hunt of the monsters plaguing Crete. But, Orion starts to get a ‘big head’ about it and begins to brag that there is no beast he cannot kill with his spear or his arrows. Zeus, king of the gods and god of thunder and the skies, hears Orion’s boasting and is angered. Zeus then decides to test Orion by sending down to earth a giant scorpion. Well, there are conflicting versions of this myth. Some say that it was Apollo, god of many things and twin to Artemis, that sent down the scorpion, who fears that Orion is a threat to his sister and so sends the beast to do away with Orion. Either way, Orion was not expecting a giant scorpion and is taken down by the monster with a single flick of it’s poisoned tail.
“One more version is that Apollo tricks Artemis into shooting Orion down herself by convincing her that she is shooting a man who has just seduced one of her priestesses which requires punishment. Either way, Orion is now dead and is placed among the stars, forever being chased by the giant scorpion that killed him through the sky.” Logan finished his retelling of the myth, turning his gaze back to Patton.
“Wow,” Patton muttered, staring at him with wide eyes, seemingly filled with stars the way they were sparkling. And then, without any warning or conscious decision from his brain, Patton was leaning forward and pressing a quick kiss to Logan’s lips. “I love you.” He whispered when he pulled back.
Logan, the poor dear, was in such a state of shock that he had to words to reply. Instead, he reached out to gently cup Patton’s face in his hands and pulled him in for another kiss. When they parted again not long after, Logan found that his voice worked again. “I love you, too.” He breathed out.
The smile Patton gave then was bright enough to figuratively outshine the sun. He hummed and scooted over so he could pillow his head on Logan’s chest. “Tell me about another constellation?” He asked, voice soft and content as warmth flooded his heart.
Logan reached a hand up to play with Patton’s hair and smiled, his heart feeling ready to figuratively beat out of his chest at the pure love he was feeling. “Of course.” He whispered. He gently grabbed Patton’s hand and kissed it softly. “Anything.”
Ahhhhh I hope you liked it ^-^ anyway, I think this may just be the longest fluff I have ever written lol
Now, I mentioned in the tags when I answered the ask that you'd get a bonus wip bc I goofed
Here it is ^-^
Patton was making dinner for all of them when he felt a light tap on his shoulder and turned his head to see his lovely boyfriend standing there. A soft blush dusted Logan’s cheeks and he looked nervous. Patton turned fully away from the stove to place his hands on Logan’s cheeks and boop their noses together before pulling away and intertwining their hands. “Hey, hun.” He said, smiling when he noticed Logan’s blush darken.
“Good evening, my love.” Logan said and it was Patton’s turn to blush. “I would like to ask you a question.” Logan said slowly, looking down at their hands.
“Go right ahead, Lo,” Patton said.
“Would you like to go on a date tonight?” Logan rushed out, still looking anywhere but Patton’s eyes. Patton grinned and threw his arms around Logan’s shoulders.
“I would love to!” He said, pressing a kiss to Logan’s cheek and then nuzzling into the crook of his boyfriend’s neck.
Logan’s arm came up to wrap around Patton’s back, returning the hug, and he rested his head atop Patton’s. “Good. Everything will be ready by twenty-three hundred, er, eleven o’clock.” Logan stated, pulling back.
“I can’t wait.” Patton gave Logan a kiss before turning back to the stove and returning his attention to making dinner.
Lol okay so I was writing this and then remembered that you asked for Mutual Pining(TM) and I was like oh oops XDDD
So anyway, I hope you enjoyed the fluffy logicality (that turned more into a lesson on the greek myth of Orion but I digress, I'm a nerd) and the fluffy wip of established logicality at the end there XDDDD
