I wanna talk about Lovemoney. I didn't mind the game itself, except for you know... grape and the s word. It makes me feel glad it got updates like adding a love metor. If you fill it up, then Harvey would kiss you right back and would actually agree to have sex. If not, he would slap your wrist and say no. But I still hated the S word at the very ending, and it's coming from someone who's been through depression before. So it made me think of an AU involving my yumiship. Normally, my oc Anima is paired up with Court Harvey but LM Harvey. She would still have some hanky panky with Harvey, but she wouldn't grape him. That's not like my baby girl. Harvey would want it too. Thankfully, they had a condom so she couldn't get pregnant. Eun-mi would still find out choking him out with rope like in the game. Anima comes back to the booth just to see if he's OK but sees the mark on his neck. Harvey denied Eun-mi did that and tried to hide it. Anima was once in an abusive marriage herself, so she would do whatever it took to get him away from Eun-mi and her abuse. This case, she would save him from taking his own life.
Also the new lovemoney update (the one that wasn't just fucking harvey with almosy no consent)was peak bro. wathced a playthrough and i liked it . rated 9/10 mini harveys because the code/note portiona were a little confusing . lol
Late af to this lol . I'm tired. imagine if 7 months went down the drain 😁😁✌️✌️
Okay so I played Lovemoney and I feel like a shitty person which is mostly my fault cause I went in just about blind
(mostly under cut cause there's a couple personal details in order to give proper context, tw for discussion of SA/rape. Also NSFW but it's an NSFW game sooo)
(also it gets a little vent-ish but it's mostly when discussing lack of a proper content warning and why that matters so it is relevant)
So. It's rape. It's coercion at best if you ignore the fact that he explicitly withdraws consent in the pegging route. Even if he technically gives it later, consent should be explicit from the very start, so it's still rape. It's also explained later that he feels guilty about it and literally says that you enjoyed it, but "he can't say the same".
As far as I know, no content warning, which is not something I'll discuss too much since I am someone who did not do nearly enough research before playing. But I also feel like there was no content warning because the whole thing felt like it was framed as a good thing? Like I feel so icky and uncomfortable playing it because it felt like I was doing a good thing when I could very much tell it was not. This is just something I wanted to touch on because as an SA survivor myself, while I don't really mind depictions of rape, it's really triggering to get it thrown at me when I'm not expecting it, especially when I(as the viewer or player) am the perpetrator in the media, and especially when it's seemingly attempting to make me feel good about it.
I even felt iffy during the kissing part. I literally sped up my clicking just to get it over with. I genuinely wanted to drop the game at some points, but I was hoping it would somehow redeem itself, and by the end I just felt guilty enough to where I had to keep playing just to see what happened.
I know, I know, it's a horny game first and foremost. But still. I think it's at least important to put at least a content warning, especially if the content isn't very clear to some people.
Worst part is- it's good! The dialogue is good, the art is good, the scenes before the whole romantic stuff started were cute, the way they draw Harvey is beautiful, all the little details we get about his life were lovely. If the creator had only added actual consent, I would have loved this game, especially as a Harvey yumeshipper!
But yeah. Don't really recommend Lovemoney. Softmoney is a way better alternative.
