FIND YOUR MATCH (LOVE POTION #31)
#greenstella
Sarah looks around herself, the corner of her lips curving up into a small smile as she sees that she is surrounded by her friends. They all look so content. She felt like a third wheel, nope it’s the seventh wheel actually as her three friends were all paired up with someone. They were all in happy relationships that were only possible because of her undoubtedly good skills in the matchmaking, but not once did they even remember to ‘THANKS’ her. It never bothered her before this so why was she feeling so annoyed by it right now.
Her eyes roaming in the crowded cafeteria, plenty of the couples there are only possible of existing because of her. Seeing that she sighed and stand up from her seat. “Sarah, where are you going?” one of her friends asks, “Nothing, just going to get some fresh air for a moment.” she smiles and leaves the place. She makes her way up the flights of stairs out onto the rooftop of the building.
She actually tried to just forget and be happy for them but there was still a bit of jealousy and tiredness deep inside which she didn’t even know the reasons why. Maybe she just was tired being left out. Being the only one that was still single which excluded her from joining her friends at many kinds of events. She also wanted ‘her’ someone.
Sarah sits down on the oak tree bench, her hair flows along with the breeze and she closes her eyes. She enjoyed being on her own before but not until now where she couldn’t help to feel that everyone was just rubbing it in that she was lonely.
“Sarah, right?” the girl’s silence moment is being interrupted by a male’s voice. She opens her eyes and looks towards the voice which is by her side.
“Yeah, but how did you know my name?” Sarah questions as she can’t recall any past connection with the boy at her side. “Well prettily everyone in the school knows you right. You are Sarah, the school’s matchmaker” he watches her with an amused face. “I’m Mark by the way.”
“Hmm… yeah right” she smiles. “So is that why you are here? Needed assistance with your love life? If you are here to get a match, I’m sorry but at the moment I can’t help you.” Mark laughs with your remarks. “Uh-uh… nope, I’m not here for that. I was just hanging around here actually I came before you and then I saw you sitting here alone.”
“Oh… okay” Sarah nods and looks at the scenery of the city in front of her from the rooftop which is very breathlessly exquisite. But as she feels the gaze of Mark’s on her, she looks back at him once. “Why are you looking at me like that? Did my face have anything that you are looking for?”
“Nothing, it just that I’m admiring how beautiful you are,” he says, a sly smirk plastered on his face. “Hahaha… you surely are a smooth talker aren’t you?” Sarah laughing in sarcasm way.
“Well I’m trying my best here actually,” he shrugs while move and sit at the oak tree bench. She shakes her head with his remark and look away. “Now tell me Miss Cupid, why are you sitting here all alone?” Sarah bursts out laughing at the nickname he just said.
“Wait, WHAT?! Miss Cupid?!”
“Yeah, you are just like a cupid shooting arrows at people’s heart and making them falling in love with each other,” he explains.
“Alright that does make a bit sense,” she chuckles with his explanations. “But seriously though, don’t call me that.” She narrows her eyes at the boy and he lifts his long arms in surrender at her remarks.
“Hmm… do you want to get out of here?” Mark suggests and Sarah thinks for a while before agreeing with him. Skipping class is not what Sarah would be doing on her own but here she was at a Baskin-Robbins store, getting ice cream with a boy she just met less than an hour ago.
“Two scoops of Love Potion #31 ice cream please,” Sarah orders and turns to looks at the questioning face plastered on Mark’s with one of his raised eyebrow. “What? Is there anything wrong with my order?”
“Are you seriously Miss Cupid? A Miss Cupid order a Cupid’s ice cream? Seems that even your taste indicates your nickname well Miss Cupid.” He said and she rolls her eyes.
“Oh gosh, it just that I like the flavour which didn’t have anything to do with its meaning at all okay! Plus, don’t judge my preferences.” She frowns as she grabs her cone.
“Cookies n Cream is the way to go for an ice cream,” Mark scrunches up his nose as he gets his cone as well. They walk out of the shop, talking about random things as they stroll around the city.
“By the way, are you like a serious professional matchmaker or what?” Mark asks. “Because you know what, more than half of your matches have worked out well for them.”
“I don’t know. I guess maybe it’s just a part of my instinct, I usually find myself paying attention to the smallest things in each of the person I’ve tried for the matchmaking,” she shrugs her shoulder not knowing the actual answer to the question herself. Mark nods.
“And do you have your own love match?” he asks. Sarah shakes her head while licking her ice cream deliciously. “Nope… not yet maybe still far away in the dreamland.” She answers with a little chuckle. “Alright then, I will be your matchmaker,” he wiggles his eyebrows and she laugh on his funny remarks.
“YOU?” he nods. “I don’t think you would have that kind of talents same as me,” she boasts of herself before laughing loud. “That’s definitely right, of course I will not be the same. As you are the number one, Miss Cupid,” Mark teases.
“Hey, I told you to stop calling me that!” Sarah giggles.
Mark admires her for a few seconds, “Do you think we are a good match?”
“US? Like romantically involved?” she questions the obvious and he nods. “Hmm… Well I don’t know yet. But who knows what future holds as right now all I can agree that yeah we are sure click off together. We sure have that chemistry going on very well by now.” She smiles after giving her sum up for his question.
“So… do you want to give this match a try?”
