I don’t know what is actually being said in the original Chinese. In English Sub for when he left through the windows of his mansion to investigate after he was forbidden from leaving by the Great General in Episode 4 is “No one will know if I sneak out the window.” However, in the Vietnamese translation, he’s like “the Great General said I have to close my doors to reflect on my mistakes so obviously I can’t leave through my front door, but he didn’t say I have to close my window doors.” Dude’s a jokester and has a hidden sense of humor even through he appears so straightlaced!
@huaschengs or any other Chinese-speaking cdrama watchers who are watching/have seen Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty, which translation was closer to the original quote? Hopefully it’s the funnier one!
