”Morning, Captain.”
“No, it isn’t.”
I remember when there were 8 works here total - less than one page. That was 2 weeks ago. Two weeks. This is the fastest I’ve ever seen a fandom grow and the most I’ve ever seen created in such a short amount of time. Amazing work everyone, I’n so proud of us!
little things about omfd that i think about a lot:
how the crew argued about who would be captain in the first episode and by the end they all agreed on Olu
Ed was able to introduce himself as Ed (not blackbeard) for the first time in probably a very long time with Stede
As Blackbeard he wears his hair down but Ed would tie it back when he was around Stede
Ed loves the color purple (especially his outfit in ep5)
Roach is actually an amazing chef like did you see those little tapas plates they looked so good
Buttons' fangs
Lucius being the emotional backbone of the entire crew
I realise (and love) that as a fandom we have collectively rejected the idea of Lucius being dead, because really, he's too integral of a character to just be struck off like that, and off-screen no less! But something that's been playing on my mind is how the crew—and more specifically Black Pete—is going to react to his disappearance.
The crew is so close knit, a little family, and Lucius is such a big part of that. He has this innate ability to read and connect with people and so (with also being Stede's confidant of a sort) I can see why Ed—as the Kraken—may have perceived him as a threat and tried to do away with him. Out of a sense of self-preservation, perhaps?
But Blackbeard is someone that Black Pete has always greatly admired; he's been put on this pedestal as a monument to what it means to be a "true pirate". It's only once Blackbeard met Stede and started to become Ed that Black Pete also seemed to change his views on what piracy could be, how things aboard the ship could be, and accept a new status quo. He does say that he always viewed Blackbeard as his captain, despite the co-captain status, in S01E08 when Stede announces that Ed is leaving with Jack, but it's still very clear that the crew has accepted Ed as who he is regardless of how he comports himself.
BUT I DIGRESS (sorry I'm rambling), back to my point agshs. I'm so anxious to find out how Black Pete will feel once they realise that Lucius is missing—presumed dead—and that Blackbeard is the cause? His love versus his idol, and all the conflicting emotions that go along with it.
A lot of people have been speculating about Ed stabbing Stede in S02, but I'm wondering if we shouldn't be on the lookout for Black Pete out for revenge and stabbing the Kraken...? 👀
i CANNOT be the only one who's like. weirdly invested in lucius and black pete's relationship. im just so curious about them it's BIZARRE ,, im simply desperate to know about WHY they are the healthiest couple in the entire show .
remember in 2012 when marvel girlies just never shut up about phil coulson not being dead and then marvel eventually went "yeah actually you guys are right"
that's what we're all doing with lucius right now
Lucius!?!??!!??!?!?!?
