❝ それ以来、僕は嘘つきで 騙せない人や物も無くなって 『怪物』に成り果てちゃってさ ・・・ああ、ごめんね 泣かないで! 全部法螺話だよ?
...just kidding
Welcome to reality,「Celestia Ludenberg」
{ K } ➤ If the world was fair, he probably would have sucked at cards.
He would not really have had a problem if that was a case. It wasn't like he played entirely fairly. He would have liked to, honestly. He could easily just use his observations of his opponent to predict their next move. The tiniest flicker of a facial feature was a mistake that could cost them the game.
And that would be that. He would win, they would lose, and the end.
...But could merely that satisfy him?
{ Oh, God no. }
A fair win bored him. He just could not resist skewing the odds in his favor via a cheap trick. He could mask his emotions well without the power, but that was far too mundane for his tastes. He just had to cast a villain's light upon himself. Oh, he was a terrible cheater. He would deceive his opponent and appear to wear the same expression, regardless if that was the face he truly wore. It was confusing, but as long as the details were kept to himself, no one should care.
But still, there remained bad days.
Days in which the cards were simply not dealt in his favor. Days in which he would hold tightly onto his winning deck, sure to keep them in contact with his hand. And he would deceive them yet again, showing them a hand that was not truly his. Aces and kings and cards of high level. Yeah, it was shameful, he knew. Even worse than hustling or lying. Cheating was unacceptable. Which was why it suited him so well.
The world was unfair, so he would be make it a point to be unfair as well. How lame his morals were. But it was all just an excuse. Pitiable, really.
But he would have to tuck aside the moreso blatant cheating this time around. Rumor had it that a professional gambler was to make a visit soon. Someone by the name of Celestia Ludenburg. The name had clear traces of English heritage in it, but it was said that Ludenburg was Japanese. Strange, strange. Maybe it was some weird phase...?
He wanted to try his luck against her. Without cheating. He would probably lose, maybe even on purpose to fuel her ego. What he really intended to do was to talk to her. The game would merely serve as a topic for conversation. A professional gambler with a winning streak that shocked even the best of the best. Now, how could he not take interest in such a girl?
Oh... Was that her?
The girl in the doorway appeared Japanese, but there was a queenly aura to her. From her curled hair to the Gothic-styled dressed. Impressive. He approached her slowly, hands buried inside his pocket to create an informal look.
"Yo... Could you perhaps be Miss Ludenburg?"
