“Here!” The smaller girl hands the other a bright red flower, offering an even brighter grin. “You look like you need something to make you smile, and flowers always make me smile, and I think everyone needs more flowers in their lives. I have orange and pink if you like those colors better!” Rin indicates the flowers she clutching in her hand, before waiting expectantly for a response.

“Kagome-chan...?” The girl peeked into the hut, seeking out the older woman. Seeing the dark hair, she entered. Having been in the village for a few months, the child still felt strange not following her lord around, but at least the people here were kind. “There’s a villager asking for one of those healing herbs, but Kaede-sama wants you to show me how to make it.”

“Scuse me,” the Hufflepuff asks, tapping the boy on the shoulder. The red and gold is clear, and it’s friendlier than the green and silver that she keeps running into (and hopes her pet hasn’t). She didn’t want to ask for help, but she’s looked everywhere and Papa said specifically to keep an eye on Ah-Un, which she is clearly failing at, so seeking out another set of eyes might be beneficial. “Have you seen a dog go by?”

rin doesn’t like most people that much, has a particular problem with most adults, but can generally detect when someone is okay -- or likewise, when someone is not feeling okay. which is why, when she sees the woman, she gives a bright smile. sifting through her array of wild flowers that she’s picked as she’s walked, she hands picks a bright yellow one from the bunch and holds it out. “yellow makes me happy so it should make you happy too.”

the young girl is hesitant, but doesn’t protest. she still doesn’t completely trust the other, but nobody else has offered to help her in a long time. she’d only been trying to take a couple rolls of bread to eat -- surely the merchant wouldn’t have noticed two or three missing. but rin was caught, the stick the merchant used to whack her hands away leaving stinging red marks on her skin. she looks from them back up to the older girl, gives a soft, hesitant but bright smile. “thanks. i hope i didn’t cause you trouble.”
