What are some of the books currently on your bookshelves that you really want to pick up? 🤔📖
I bought GIRL MANS UP at the author’s signing when it was first released. While I haven’t read it YET, I like knowing that it’s there waiting for me. I think the message it will deliver when I read it is an important one and honestly, I’m really trying to read more diverse books! Have you read this one? 📚📚
Along with GIRL MANS UP, I have a lot of books I look at on my shelves that I really want to pick up. I just stare at them and quietly vow that one day I’ll read them. 😅📖

Do the wlw end up together : Yes
Butch young adult protagonists seem remarkably hard to come by, this might honestly be one of the only ones I’ve read. Don’t worry, its rarity isn’t the only reason to recommend it; Pen struggles to break free of her parents control of her gender presentation and the influence of her frat boy-esque friends. This is really a story about independence, in every form it can take - from family expectations, toxic friendships, and relationships. And of course, along the way Pen pursues a brand new relationship, chatting about video games and hanging out in the basement, all the classic high school romance scenes that wlw books often lack. This is the classic coming-of-age novel with a gay twist so no matter who you are, you’ll find you have something in common with Pen.
Pen and Blake from Girl Mans Up for my underrated wlw book series! // society6
