At the end of their first year of university Arthur decides to take Merlin on a road trip, and holds on to the hope that before it's over they'll be more than just friends. Morgana decides she and Gwen are going to come along, and Merlin and Gwen decide they're both insane. Along the (admittedly short) road to true love there are roller coasters, flat tires, chocolate, sheep, pillow fights, food fights, keychains, and memories that will last a lifetime.

I think: everything is just so cute and fluffy and adorable. Merlin and Gwen are incredible oblivious (as would I) and Arthur and Morgana are so ... adorable. So yeah, everything is fluff, nobody is evil and there is a CHOCOLATE MUSEUM! And lots of fluffy pining.

I think: the summary is non existent but the fic is all kinds of adorable. The two of them are just sweet and idiots and dorks and yeah. It's a short make-me-smile fic with a tiny bit of Arthur-you're-so-stupid-fix-it.

The Knights are about to embark on their Round Table Tour. All is not well with the band. Lead vocalist Arthur and lead guitarist Gwaine are feuding again. The head roadie has quit, leaving them in the lurch just before their first show. Enter Merlin, Gwaine's former friend, to handle the logistics. Merlin harbors a dark secret as the victim of domestic violence. Hijinks ensue, with a blend of angst and humor, and of course Arthur and Merlin discover they were destined to be together.

I think: I love the story and it's beautiful written. Yes, Merlin and Mordred are in a relationship in the beginning, and Mordred is physically and mentally abusing Merlin. Nothing is glamourized and the "then why does he stay" is well described. It's all really heartbreaking and you just want to crawl inside, wrap Merlin in a blanket and rip Mordreds throat out (with your teeth). And Arthur is so sweet and understanding and helping and urgh. He doesn't lock Merlin away, but helps him to get stronger, to figure out what he wants and stand up for himself. And along the way Arthur learns he can do the same. But it's not all serious and dark and angsty, I mean it has these parts, but come on - Gwaine is in the band! They're a ridiculous bunch of people being silly and trying to have fun. It's a amazing story, maybe a bit heavy some times but amazing nevertheless.

Merlin is definitely supposed to work for Arthur, but spends most of his time mocking Arthur's dress sense, berating him via IM with Morgana, sending Gwen capslock-filled emails about him and, most of all, trying not to fall in love with the shiny-shoed ponce. Arthur, meanwhile, is definitely supposed to be taking over his father's company some day, but instead spends most of his time scowling at Merlin, making lists about him, trying to find excuses to fire him and, most of all, trying to pretend he is totally not head-over-heels for the jumped up little upstart. Someone's got to make some difficult choices eventually, and this can only lead to one thing: angst. Or hilarity. Or, embarrassingly enough, self-discovery.
