Page 5:
I had a lot of fun drawing Paul and Hershel on the souped-up motorbike!
I recently had the opportunity to ride on the back of a motorbike and I tried to convey that feeling a little with Hershel's expression, haha.
The panel I worked on the most is the second one with Claire on the bus. I did a lot of research to find a nice, retro-style image of the inside of one of them. I really enjoyed drawing a few extras, especially the grandmother and her granddaughter at the front.

I had a lot of fun with his umbrella during this chapter. I used him to mask Milo's expressions and to give some spider web symbolism, suggesting that Milo is pulling the strings and leading Claire into a trap. I wanted the reader to perceive Claire as a perceptive and intelligent character. I don't want people to think she's too naive to just follow Milo's instructions, but rather that she's walking into the lion's den more out of curiosity than stupidity.
But will she really do it? And what exactly does Milo want?
Milo is very observant and you can now see that he keeps files on certain people they consider ‘interesting’. We can imagine that Milo has done enough research to know what happened in Stansburry... Maybe even more... If you want to, you can go back on previous chapters and notice him watching on different peoples and taking some mental notes....
