I can’t believe it’s been an entire year since God opened the doors for me to perform in Houston, an opportunity that sparked a series of spiritual and emotional “growth spurts” for me. Since then, God has been reshaping and reigniting my heart in so many ways, giving new meaning to dance and to life that I’d never considered before. What had once been such a disappointing, heartbreaking, almost-unreachable career path gradually became my expression of hope, fulfillment, and JOY, a passion and promise God has given me for a PURPOSE. His purpose. . . A year later and at the brink of graduating (finally), I’m still figuring out how to live out that purpose. But for the first time (perhaps ever), I’m not afraid. I’m not afraid of getting it wrong or messing up or even failing. I’m not afraid of what people think or say about me, or even what they expect from me. I’m not afraid of doors closing or people leaving or seasons changing. Because at the end of the day, it’s not really about reaching a particular goal or achievement, but the kinds of lessons I’ll learn and people I can touch along the way.
