The town of Madisonville; now situated between Oakley, Fairfax and Indian Hill neighborhoods, was founded in 1809. By 1826 the town was expanding with churches, homes, a post office as well as several manufacturing businesses and distilleries. After the addition of the B&O Railroad overpass around 1905, Madisonville became a part of the city of Cincinnati.
