So I happen to be subscribed to this channel and was really psyched to see this video. All lion king themed and all as I was wondering how deep they might delve into the obscure semi-canon facts of the fandom And then…

At the 6:28 marker it all fell apart. I am all for fair use but when it comes to fanart being used versus a plethora of available Disney screencaps this annoyed the piss out of me. And then as if it wasn’t bad enough at 7:18 they used this piece by tauwnycat:

Now I know this blog has posted some videos about children who make mashups and fan edits on youtube but I would like to just say something that’s pertinent to this channel and one of the main reasons why I posted this. They are currently being sued in the 9th circuit court of appeals for using someone else’s picture’s without permission and said person is making them at risk of losing their channel. (The owner has a video on the channel and google is wonderful) However, they also make money lots of money, selling merchandise and from ad revenue. Obviously they could claim fair use with this and I’d concur with the screencaps but to know they made me watch an ad, know they’re looking to raise (and are receiving donations of a $30k goal to pay for their lawyer fees) money for their court appeals, all because they decided to take the first google image they found and used it in their video greatly disturbs me.

This is probably very long and most people won’t read but what I am trying to convey is left unchecked this is what those baby manips and other video editors/roleplayers will do with other artists’ works. I don’t know if the artists can do anything about it but I thought I could at least sound a small alarm and raise awareness to this.

I left a comment. Time to see if she straight up blocks me, or tells me off.

Finally got permission from the upset buyer (Who shall remain anonymous) to share the traced line art they lost 5$ on. The lioness on the very far right is clearly traced off of the Nala turnaround sheet made by Disney. The lion on the far left looks like it was attempted to be traced off Savu. The rest, not sure. Possibly an attempt at being original. I think the lioness lying down was from Sarabi being slapped. Or perhaps one of the three lionesses on the ledge as Simba makes his way to Nala.

She’s still begging for handouts in order to keep pumping the fandom with recolors. Have we learned nothing from the drama this caused on da?

This MafumaTheLion character is really dense. They’re drowned by their massive ego that they can’t even see why the fandom is upset with them and are calling us all trolls because we dare spit in her face and call her a liar and a thief. They even state that they will unblock those of us she’s bawwlocked only if we’re going to follow her. As if I would kiss her spindly ass. 2 to 1 says her real age is 8 years old lying to be online.

Mafumathelion just keeps digging themselves deeper into their egotistical grave.

Also, TakaDK and Eyes moved away from recoloring/tracing, you didn’t. You’re passing it off as your originul the fan art donut steel and loudly proclaiming that it’s just referencing. You’re even claiming Disney backgrounds as your works of art for fuck’s sake! The moment you grow up and realize that what you’re doing is wrong and start producing your own original content to be proud of, I’ll be here waiting for an apology from you. We all will.
