After completing Kiwitopia, or getting it as completed as I could, I decided to start over with a new island. As much as I loved my first map I definitely had no idea what I was doing and the layout felt really cramped.

For the new island I’m going to try and go with a more natural feel and work with the original map instead of terraforming it to death.

On a side note I feel like an idiot for not taking a screen shot of the actual final map, but the mock up was pretty close, minus the music festival grounds, that never got built.

Map Inspo

This map above is a style that I want to explore with my map design. I like how sleek, easy to read and minimal it is. I also like the use of colour, line and bold flat shapes. I find that this style will complement my brochure/poster design because of minimal yet effective it is.
