A/N: long time no see!! In other news, the Stars have a personality!! Or, at least, Esumes does. Enjoy <3

The Highest Servant had little moments of peace. She was always surrounded by other servants, guards, people… And The Stars.

It would be improper and highly inadvisable to say that the last ones bothered her. But, objectively speaking, the Stars in their full immortality did not have a precise control of what time was and when was more or less appropriate to put their own voices in her head.

"I do believe that a few group prayers in my honor will not do any bad,'' was rambling Esumes for the tenth time in an hour. The girl pinched her nose, already sensing the terrible headache that would come once the deity decided that their chat was over.

She should be used to this by now: being elected Highest Servant at the prime age of five, the consequences of having a more direct link with the Stars. Headaches, nausea and even passing out if three or more Stars decided to call for her at the same time, her mind unable to resist the magic.

She should also be used to Esumes being the most… insecure of the Stars. He wasn't whiny or too demanding, but from time to time, and whenever his prayers decreased slightly, he was back in her head, wanting more. More devoted people, more rites, more altars… More.

The Stars always wanted more.

"I do not mean to interrupt, Sir," she definitely interrupted, tired of how the Star was now complaining about the lack of devotion the younger generations had and how she was meant to fix it. She was always meant to fix it all, as if everything was as easy as snapping her fingers to attention. "But have You talked about this with the Star of Vision?"

She heard Esumes scoff. "If I didn't know you I would assume you are starting to become tired of my demands. Arei is by no means my king or superior, insolent kid."

"I know but-"

"You will do as I told you, for I am your God and you are just a mortal. With more affinity than the rest, that I'll give you, but only a mortal."

And the Star left.

The Highest Servant was always surrounded by people, but her loneliness was deeper than anyone from Cheasya. Probably than anyone had ever felt in the whole Ground.

It's Monday. But I suddenly had so much stuff to do yesterday that decided it wouldn't be a bad idea to keep the asks for today. So yeah 😅

I had so much fun writing this and I hope it warms your heart and makes you laugh equally haha

"So... you eat stuff in between two pieces of bread?"

"Don't say it like that!" Kit exclaimed, and hold the sandwich almost reverently. "This might be one of the most cherised meals of our generation."

"Your generation likes to eat meat and cheese slices in between bread," Jasper deadpanned.

It's not that he wasn't getting it, this was fairly easier to understand than Instagram or social media, but the whole thing seemed...

"Simple," Agatha finished for him, going into the kitchen. Kit turned to her, as if she had said that the sky was red or thst the earth was flat, and she shrugged, "what? It's true that it doesn't take an engineer to make a sandwich."

"But... But sandwhiches are great! This one is a Kit Sandwich, Ags"

Ah yes, a Kit Sandwich. The sometimes-horrifying-sometimes-surprising-but-always-chaotic invention Kit had creates a few years ago, after trashing his whole pantry looking for whatever qualified as a topic to put in between the bread slices.

This time the concoction had lettuce, tomato, pickles and something that Agatha could only guess was pulled pork based on the texture.

Still, she took the dish off from Kit's hands, cut the square in two triangles and offered Jasper one. Without saying anything she took a bite and chew, and...

"Really? Soy sauce?"

Kit grinned. "It's not a my sandwich if it's not chaotic."

She hummed in approval and nudged Jasper to go on.

"It's edible... More or less."

After a second of hesitation he decided to try it, not really knowing what to expect.

Somehow his brain and bud tastes knew the flavors weren't supposed to be mixed together like that... But strangely it worked.

"It's... not bad, just... strange," he finally managed.

"THATS EXACTLY THE POINT, JASPER!" Kit all but screamed. He took off the plates from his friends and stacked them up in the counter, puffing dramatically. "You know what? If you stay here any longer you will be late for the concert, and it's clear as day that you can't appreciate my creations so-"

He shoved the couple out of the room and almost to the door, as they tried not to laugh. They stepped out of the house and walked to Agatha's car.

After a beat, she commented: "Don't worry, Prince Charming, I'll buy you something to eat before we go inside."

He sighed relieved and chuckled, "It was awful."

"But he does it with love."

Kit threw the sandwich to the trash when he went back to the kitchen. He had been creating this horrifying things for Agatha to eat in hopes that one day, she would break and tell him how bad it tasted. And not only that hadn't happened yet but also Jasper had decided not to hurt his feelings.

He really did have the best of friends.

Marble and Magic: A WIP Reintroduction

Part 1 of The Descendants of the Stars duology.

Genre: high and urban fantasy, romantic subplot, coming of age and adventure.

Age rate: NA.

POV: first person (Agatha) and third person omniscient (Jasper).

Status: plotting and drafting.

Synopsis:

Agatha and Kit commit a serious of questionable choices when they seek revenge becuse of Kit's broken heart, but making graffities on the museum that your ex's family owns seems better than slashing his tires. Still, when they are caught an opportunity different than being sued appears: working in the museum... for the whole summer.

It wouldn't be that bad if there wasn't hoards of people who expect to see the Enchanted Statue. Tourists and locals all sigh when they learn that one day, the statue’s soulmate would take his extended hand and he would be free of his curse forever.

All is completely fake of course, just a little fairy tale so that dumbasses leave money at the gift shop… Or at least that’s what Agatha thinks.

A dare gone wrong, a stumble and suddenly Agatha is face to face with a guy that wasn’t there before….And that looks strangely similar to the statue.

But, what are the consequences of breaking the curse?

Prince Jasper's destiny has never felt so empty. When the Stars do not deliever his Fate, like they should do, the King and Queen of Cheasya order him to do whatever he feels necessary so that he is forgiven by the deities of the sky.

What no mortal knows is that the Stars are far from angry at someone so insignificant like Jasper... Although they are angry at each other. When Arei, the Vision Knight falls to the ground and seeks help from the young prince, he also promises to give him the Fate he is destined to have.

There's only one catch: helping a deity is, often, a mortal adventure.

Note: both stories are linked and there are jumps from the present to the past and so on.

“I don’t know, that’s the thing! I wasn’t expecting you because it was impossible for me to come up with someone like you on the spot, divided by so many centuries!” He took a gulp of air. “But you also know by now that I’ve never, not once, regretted that you were my soulmate. I regret being yours but-”

“Wait, wait a minute there. What?” He avoided my eyes and I squeezed his hand, trying to get his attention back. When he didn’t, I grabbed his chin and tugged until he was looking at me once more. “Jas, that is ridiculous, do you hear me?”

“Is it? Because if I wasn’t your soulmate you wouldn’t be here, fighting for your life and being stuck with a- A boy who has feelings for you since who knows when!”And he tried to pull away but I held him by the front of his shirt, desperate to let him know that no, that is not true, and that, no, he has nothing to regret about me being there with him. “This has been forced upon you and I hate that you are with me when you could be being normal! I hate that you are with me when you could be with anyone else, having a normal vacation! Most of all I hate that you think you must fall in love with me, because of something a stupid Witch you don’t even know did centuries ago…!”
