Jedermann / everybody - Part of the exhibition Everything's Gonna be Fine by Katrin Jacobsen, Paris - brings you face to face with a pedophile in full body height. Only separated and unrecognisable by buttermilk plexiglass. Here it is the pedophile is in a glass box exposed with no place to hide. As you walk around the boxes they might give the impression of an extinct creature but the buttermilk glass blurs at the same time the vision between who is on which side. You are not alone in the room, sometimes seen through the buttermilk plexi as well, other visitors share the shaming part they recognise they are in and they look at you with the look of mistrust. Mistrust and shame of taking no action? Mistrust and shame for being part of it? In the background a video on loop shows the look of a pedophile on a kid in a cellar. You hear sounds of kids playing and a song. Turning around you face a mirrored wall. Everyone. Katrin Jacobsen gives no space for escape. The whole exhibition was first shown at Sammlung Falckenberg and ZKM Karlsruhe.
