So apparently six (6) days into the invasion of Ukraine and as many as 6000 Russian soldiers are dead, and the Russian army is just leaving their bodies where they fall. Ukrainians are taking photos of the kids’ faces and posting them to Russian social media asking “is this your son?” because if they don’t, it’s possible their families may never know what happened.
Putin sent these Russian soldiers, many freshly conscripted with ZERO experience, on “training missions” to regions bordering Ukraine, where they zipped around the countryside in their USSR era tanks, wrecking barns and tearing up sod.
Next thing they know, their orders are updated with a new training mission along with new coordinates. The new coordinates were inside Ukraine itself.
That was six days ago. The trainees shrugged, set course for the new coordinates and drove over the border not even realizing they were an invasionary force. Others were told they were “rescuing” Russian separatists trapped in Ukraine.
So Imagine their surprise when they begin to encounter Ukrainian citizens who are absolutely fucking furious to see Russian tanks driving around. Some of those Ukrainians were armed with state-of-the-art Javelin anti-tank missiles.
A Russian soldier in Ukraine texts his mother moments before his death:
“Mama I’m in Ukraine. There is a real war raging here. I’m afraid. We are bombing all of the cities together, even targeting civilians. We were told that they would welcome us….”
"And they are falling under our armored vehicles, throwing themselves under the wheels and not allowing us to pass. They are calling us fascists. Mama, this is so hard."
Moments later, he died.
6000 soldiers dead in six days, many of them unaware they were at war. Sent to die by Putin in an absolute shitshow of hubris & cruelty. For comparison, America spent 20 years fucking around in Afghanistan and the total US body count was 2,500.
