hello there's this small cs55 twt acc that has very mysteriously commented on a martim and lando post yesterday and in december too about there being some crazy lore about *why* martim and lando are close but they refused to elaborate both times and i wonder if you or your followers have ever heard something about that i'm dyinggggg to know

Had I heard anything prior to this ask? Not really, or at least I don’t remember. But this prompted me to research this topic a little and Twitter lead me to names, and names lead me to information.

I looked things up out of genuine curiosity with zero ill will and I’m presenting these finding in a ‘ooh that’s interesting!!’ way and from my end there is absolutely no further implications of anything else. Simply curiosity and interest.

For anyone reading this: do not spread this information outside of this bubble. Do not crosspost to other platforms, and do not cite me as your source. However, if you choose to not respect this wish, present the information as your own and do not mention my blog.

Martim Reymão is the son of Portuguese former rally raid driver Joana Lemos and Portuguese banker Manuel de Costa Lobo Reymão Noguiera. He has a brother (born 1998) Tomás, who is a professional football player, more of him later.

Martim’s parents split in 2014, and Joana remarried in 2021 to Italian businessman Lapo Elkann. Now Lapo has multiple business endeavours but the one of relevance to this post is the fact that he is a member of the board of directors of Ferrari N.V. and responsible for the promotion of the Fiat Group brand. Lapo is the great-grandson of the founder of Fiat (Giovanni Anginelli), although the chosen heir of the Anginelli multi-industry business dynasty is his brother John Elkann.

Now I didn’t find any details of how Martim started to be associated with Carlos, or Ferrari, but him orbiting this space started when Carlos was in Ferrari. The clips of Martim being at the paddock in Mexico 2024 have his step father Lapo in them as well, signalling that he probably accompanied Lapo to the race and supported Carlos!

I believe the connection between Carlos and Martim comes through Ferrari and Martim’s step-father, and has since subsequently flourished into a friendship!! But Martim and Carlos are not related (I’ve seen claims of them being cousins, afaik they’re not).

Remember how I mentioned Martin’s brother Tomás? Well here we get to the *why* of Lando and Martim’s connection.

So, in my googling of Martim, I was faced with the ninth circle of hell that I avoid like the plague: Tattle. NOW! I do NOT take a single thing from that hellhole as truth and gospel, but it lead me to information that I confirmed myself. On there, someone had said a couple years ago that Martim’s brother’s fiancée’s best friend is… ding ding ding, Luisinha. So I took a gander to Instagram.

Tomás IG is private but his profile pic was him in a suit, a wedding suit perhaps. And I looked at Lu’s IG and one of her friends (Leonor Borges Reymão) that were tagged in Lu’s post not too long ago had conveniently pinned her wedding post with, you guessed it, Tomás. And with a little scroll I found that Lu was her MAID OF HONOUR (translation in Leonor’s post, Lu’s post translates to bridesmaid) and was at her bachelorette and the whole nine yards.

This sounds like a long friendship, more than just a couple years. Best friends.

That’s the connection. Martim is the brother of Lando’s ex girlfriend’s best friend’s (now) husband. That combined with Martim and Carlos’ friendship, it’s no miracle or surprise these two orbits each other too.

If someone knows something more let me know!! I may have missed something since I haven’t paid attention to this lore before and I wasn’t around in Lu’s time. But this is wholesome!! Shared circles lead to new friendships yay!! It never seizes to amaze me how incredibly small these circles are😅

Last time rambling about this but I just want to speak into a void so ramble below the cut

I can’t be bothered to do another long post about Lando+Martim because people are being very….. peculiar about it all suddenly and well fun is over!!! But there’s another element to the whole web of people here where Martim is linked to Magui too through his actress-cousin, and they’ve know each other for years and years :) and the Sainzs and the Reymão/Elkanns are family friends and one plus one is two and Martim and April Ivy are the mutual friends who likely linked Lando and Magui to one another okay that’s all!! Teeny tiny circles!!! That’s the most likely end of story here. Everything I’ve spoken of the situation is real things and facts looked at through the RPF lens whilst seeing queerness in my fav to come further to terms with queerness of my own but the discourse online about this situation has turned heteronormative because of the unfortunately very real repercussions people face for being queer because of culture and society-wide homophobia so I’m tapping out :3 it was interesting while it lasted! And from my end it wasn’t serious to begin with, just a fun little thing but it’s turned not fun now.

I’m also very very aware of the cultural differences between my own culture and Portugal/southern Europe in general. I’m very aware that in the south being more tactile and physically affectionate with friends is the norm!! I come from a culture where it isn’t, which thus prompts me to see such cases as potentially queer because tactility like that isn’t what I personally am used to. It already starts from the cheek kiss greeting in southern European cultures!!! In my culture that doesn’t exist!! So it’s understandable why to my personal eye things looked different, and I have to put in the conscious effort to remind myself to not look at situations with my outsider point of view, but to understand interactions in their own cultural context. But none of this was serious from my end, just a bit of fun with a dash of RPF and a general celebration of male affection!! I don’t know these people or their identities and I’ve never claimed to, critically thinking it’s me projecting my own identity to the people I follow, etc etc you get the jist.

All of this has made me once again realise how badly I wish to live to see the day that queerness in all its forms is just as normal and accepted in the world as being straight is. I hope that one day it’s just a feature of a person the same way their hair colour is <3

i've seen people use marlan for martim/lando? anyway, thank you so much for that little dive- i was trying to find some things about him yesterday, but except for that he's an actor, i couldn't really haha 🥲 any articles about him are in portuguese too

Marlan sounds good too!!! I guess time will tell which one sticks (can you believe there was a time when people used mando for nortrell... I mean yeah it works but to me mando is mandalorian :P)

See the thing about the actor part is something I didn't take as gospel eventhough I came across it too. He does have a page on Backstage's website (a global casting platform), but the photos on there are fairly old. But at least it seems he has a degree in acting!! Drama major at Hofstra University, a private research university in Hempstead, New York.

Okay I'm looking things up as I write this. I assume "class of 2025" means he's graduated, but majoring in management! This source shows that he's from Estoril, Portugal. Looking at this town oooh holy shit that looks like a beautiful place holyyyy

Also, from that university source we have his full name, and I'm once again intrigued by the naming conventions of Portuguese/Spanish speaking countries/cultures... Martim Mascarenhas De Lemos Reimao Nogueira... Also there seems to be some spelling liberties being taken on the website but we're going to overlook that because iiiiiii do not know how to get the squiggles on the letters on my PC keyboard anyway...

Another turn of the mouse wheel and oh! He was also a part of his university rugby team for the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 seasons. That's cool!!

But acting? I can't find aaaanything about any acting credits. So it seems like he is (was?) enrolled into that casting platform but it never bore any fruit. Seems like a relatively regular lad, if you forget the established wealth kind of background that he comes from lmaoooo

P.S. I'm pretty confident I've exhausted both the available sources and also my interest in spending time on looking things up, it was fun and interesting tho!!
