Something I donât think we talk enough about in attack on titan is the reoccuring bit about how the titans were gonna become obsolete regardless of what happened with the rumbling.
At the begging of season 4 during the battle between the Middle Eastern forces and Marley, Marley is shocked to find out that the other side had weapons that could take down their Titan shifters and, even though they won, they note that if technology progresses then the titans wonât be as big of a threat anymore.
Then, when the scouts invade Marley after the declaration of war, you get Porcoâs line which was something along the lines of âCanât they see it a titan, why arenât they afraid of me?â
And then again when Pieck and Gabi are talking with Eren, Pieck mentions that âthe powers of the titans are on the way out, and once Marley no longer has use for us, theyâll slaughter all the Eldians that are leftâ
I just think that itâs interesting that eren wiped everything out just before humanity itself was able to progress enough through sheer intellect and technological advancements that the titans were no longer a threat
This page is my roman empire ive been thinking abt this all the time since reading it.
Like yeah Eren and the Shiganshina gang were only kids when wall Maria was breached, but so were the warriors. The marleyan warriors started training at the ages FIVE TO SEVEN. They were genuinely pre-adolescent, kindergarten aged children. Then they're given MASSIVE responsibilty and were shipped off to a titan infested island in the middle of the fucking ocean, with instruction to kill an entire society of people they had been brainwashed to believe were a race of devils. Thats not even mentioning that THEY THEMSELVES were a part of that race!!!
Like yeah, what they did was fucking abhorrent, BUT THEY WERE BRAINWASHED NINE YEAR OLDS!!! đ
i find myself compelled to share (completely unsolicited) my aot au. gird your loins for a tangent
so i donât care for the marley stuff. itâs not poorly written or what have you i just donât like it. i firmly believe the story coulda stopped when they got to the ocean. eren be looking out like âthereâs more out thereâ. cut. end credits. leave it open ended
but what of the suspicious marlean script? where did reiner and co come from? why is eren riddled with issues? unless you wanted to cut that shit out entirely, my brain came up with a thing
once again, i do not care for âthe world is still aliveâ for aot. so instead all that shit is actually the royal family struggling to maintain their hold on the people through secret societies and fear. canât recall to what extent itâs like that originally, but this makes them the big baddies. all the shit that happened in the past did happen, but everyone else genuinely perished. the walls are it
the royal family is behind the serum. some experimentation that gotta outta hand. im not sure if some extremists got a hold of it or if someone is just going on a wild power trip, but its a problem now. and it becomes more of a problem the more the corp gets involved. they really decided to fight fire with fire like bruh
they speak marlian cause itâs a dead language. like all those frat houses and secret societies that speak latin. ymir is still from the past but reiner and them are part of this rogue faction or what have ye
so i would change up the timeline a bit. they go to shiganshina but in the basement they find out everything (both the og reiss and ackerman timelines and my wild new shit) and decide to go fix that shit before the ocean. and they do. and itâs great. and eren gets his dramatic final line. end credits
but this time the final line doesnât mean people, it means lakes of fire and plains of ice and jungles and canyons and obnoxiously flat places like kansas. it ties it all back to what armin said episode one
(also, bonus, eren doesnât become a genocidal maniac in this version. seem good? neat)
if i did write anything it would probably be levi pov cause him, jean and armin are my boys but i consume far more eruri then jearmin in recent years. (this also means task one would be trying to figure out a way both armin and erwin could live). i alsoâŠ.havenât really paid attention to anything since shiganshina. i barely paid attention to historiaâs stuff and then i only know how shiganshina ended because when it was happening in the manga (yes itâs been that long) i was a moody preteen afraid of losing my favorite armin so i just made my sister tell me what happened
but if youâve actually read this far let me know what you think?? is it too generic? or are you like me and was like, yo this do be the main cast these yeehaws gonna live? when you were first consuming le content how did you think it would end?
A series of funny situations of the Scouts in Marley (Canon Universe)
Hanji's pronouns in this headcanon is "she". Don't like, don't read.
Connie stumbled on a wedding procession and was hauled by a group of relatives who mistaken him for a distant cousin. He ended up being joyfully dragged at a restaurant nearby. The other looked for him for an hour before they found him at a table, laughing with the guests.
"It seemed rude to say no" he tried to reason while Levi dragged him away from the scruff of his jacket.
Armin narrowly fell on a toddler who launched himself on his legs, screaming "Daddy!" and clinging like a vine on his calf.
When he realized Armin wasn't his father he started crying and people stopped watching the young blond man panicking and trying to soothe the child with increasing anxiety on his face.
The kid was safely given back to his family ten seconds before Armin started crying too (poor Armin, he didn't want to upset kiddo).
Jean was noticed by a group of schoolgirls of the local scholastic institute on a field trip to the naval museum. On queue behind their professor, they started giggling, whispering and not so discretely pointing at Eren, Jean and Connie sitting on a bench waiting for Mikasa and Sasha to get out of a store. Armin was occupied to apologize (why??) To the kid's parents.
"Don't look at your left, I think you scored those girls attention, Jean." Connie said. Of course Jean did a bad job in being discreet.
"Wha... Where??" He snapped his head to the left and he saw a group of girls his age who started to jockingly panick and laugh even more.
"They're loud" Eren rolled his eyes briefly, standing up to follow Mikasa to the ice-cream cart.
"Dude! I told you not to...!"
One girl came to them, despite the professor's callings.
"Hi!" She smirked and pointed at the group, where a girl was hiding her red face behind her hands "My friend wants to know if you're single. We all want to know." A chours of laughs.
Jean's cheeks flamed and he stuttered "U-Uh... I..."
"Hanna!" The old woman raised her voice and she hastly regroup. They started walking away, waving at Jean.
"Bye, handsome!"
"Ingrid Tybur Women's Institute! Come visit us!"
"Emma is wife material if you need one"
"Girls, stop, don't give him ideas. What if he's a pervert?"
Jean came up with an indignant squawk, the group was now far "They started this and i did nothing, how am I the pervert?!"
Connie snorted "It's that goatee you are sporting. Serves you right, Jeanbo, stop hogging all the girls."
"Don't call me that!"
Sasha grabbed the hand of a guy besides her while watching a street performance with a fire eater. In her excitement she though it was Mikasa's hand.
She squeezed the fingers "Whoa! Did you see that, Mikasa??"
"Ehm, I'm not Mikasa..."
An elderly man looked at Sasha, puzzled. She widen her eyes and slowly let go.
"Sorry!" She squeaked, running to Connie and pushing him toward the opposite direction.
Eren and Mikasa fell in the water of the port. It was Eren's fault.
He was distracted looking at the boats, thinking about many things, he did not see the pier's ending.
Mikasa was with him but she realized too late, being busy in scanning her surroundings "Eren!"
He was already falling and even if he grabbed Mikasa's hand her balance wasn't enough to stop him. The force dragged the both of them in the water. The splash attracted some fishermen, who checked on if they were okay.
He resourfaced, Mikasa too, her hat floppy on her dark hair.
"Mikasa, I'm sorry! Are you alright?" He asked, worried.
"I'm fine. You?"
They were both hauled out of the water by Levi and Onyankopon, who offered his jacket to Mikasa.
"Now I have to remind you both to watch forward when you walk?"
"I'm sorry, Captain"
Levi raised an eyebrow "For what? It's you who looks like a drowned rat"
Connie and Sasha snickered and Eren narrowed his eyes, the salt water hitching on his skin.
Hanji tried to drive the Azumabito's car.
Onynakopon teached her from the front seat. Levi, seeing Hanji's pleading, was sitting in the back, arms crossed on his chest.
She managed to hit a flower pot driving out the gate of the mansion. Levi winced internally but he didn't want her to feel bad so he stayed quiet.
"What was that?" she asked but Onyankopon brought her attention on the road.
However all the levers and buttons kept distracting her "This is really interesting. So when it rains you can wipe the glass with..."
"Hanji, watch the road." Levi snapped.
A shepard crossed the road with his sheeps so Onyankopon suggested her to brake.
She pushed the wrong pedal a couple times and the car didn't brake.
"Hanji?"
"Oh, right! It's this one..."
The car had some mean brake. And she pushed so hard it stopped abruptly.
Onyankopon hit his head on the windshield. Levi found himself between the two of them upside down but unscated.
That evening Hanji kept apologizing to Onyankopon, who laid on a couch with an ice pack on the bump on his forehead.
Levi promised to himself to never trade his horse for that infernal lump of metal.
tbh i donât know if i can really truly hate gabi. sheâs just a product of marleyâs brainwashing. in the end she comes to realize her mistakes which i canât truly hate. sigh idk.
