Was just recently asked for tips to keeping a marriage alive. Here's my take
Always court your spouse. Never stop taking them out and treating them like it's your first date.
Laugh often. Learn to let the little things stay little and be able to laugh at yourself.
Be open and honest at all times. Talking things through, while hard, is always better than fighting and letting the unresolved issue fester. Jack and I have a system. We call it Code Bravo. Because sometimes you just gotta punch your anger out before you can talk things through.
Learn your spouse's love languages and make sure they never feel unloved. Cherish them because you are never promised the next second. Every day is a gift.
Love isn't enough. Marriage takes hard work. Commitment. Compromise. If you aren't willing to put in the time or the effort into building a life with someone, then do yourself and your partner justice by ending things before the nuptials. I don't believe in divorce. You took an oath. Stick with it.
