A Day in The Summer ‘76

Hogwarts had been on Summer Holidays for the past two weeks, each day getting warmer and longer- which to any teenager it was a great way to spend time with their friends in shopping centres and out in parks….Remus new his friends truly didn’t know the experience of a public pool.

So here they were, dropped off by Lyall and Hope with a few pounds in hand for cold drinks or icy poles along with a warning to not do anything too stupid.

Sirius, clearly coming into his punk rock phase had dressed in solid black swimmers, decided that he would rather flirt with girls as he (won’t admit himself) can’t swim. James, wore gifted Gryffindor shorts that were charmed so they wouldn’t get wet, although Remus said it looked like one of those pesky soccer teams so he wouldn’t look too out of place wearing them. Peter, who actually had never bought a pair of swimmers before, loaned (and now forever keeps) a pair of Remus’ swim trunks in a light beige to Remus’ blue and white pair.

The group of Mauraders truly were having the time of their lives, only a few times getting out for a piss break (although Remus did tell them kids have just peed in the pool before cause there’s a filter system) or to get the icy poles Hope promised were a ‘good treat’.

It was nearing the end of their time at the pool as Lyall had promptly told them to be back at the entrance gates by the end of his shift at the ministry….a realisation had suddenly hit Sirius Black as he and his fellow purebloods commentated Remus’ moving along the diving boards.

“Next up is Remus Lupin! He is preparing his jump from the 30 metre diving board” James started off. Remus was looking down at the water, hoping that no kid would swim underneath the exact moment he was going to enter the water.

“This dive could bring home the gold!” Peter announced, the boys had been told about the Olympics as the games were announced on Muggle TV when the boys were at home.

Remus poked his tongue out at the three boys waiting for him to take the dive. He took another steep breathe in before jumping, spiralling in to the perfect dive and into the water.

“And now an update from our very own, Sirius Black” James turned towards the Black heir.

“Thank you, James. Turns out, I’m gay.” Sirius smirked to himself. 

“That you are my friend. That you are” James patted him on the back as Remus slowly got out of the pool and headed towards the three boys on the sideline.

James: Brown cows must produce chocolate milk

Peter: and pink cows produce strawberry milk

Remus:

Remus: well first of all regular milk isn't vanilla flavoured
