June 29th is the day of the feast of Saint Paul in Palazzolo Acreide, Sicily. In the morning of this day a small cart collects the traditional "cuddure", donut-shaped breads decorated with snakes that are then blessed and sold in the church square. At 1 pm the majestic and spectacular "Sciuta" (coming out from the church) of the “vara” carrying the statue of St. Paul. The feast is accompanied by the launch of "’nzareddi", strips of coloured paper, and fireworks which wrap the party with an explosion of colours.
