The Stahl Auto Foundation is the home of one the country's absolute finest collections. In addition to the many cars and coaches literally from 1860 - present day, they also have a wide variety of other treasures including beautiful vintage music machines, gas pumps, signs and so much more. Names like Duesenberg, Auburn, Stutz and so many more are well represented, as well as everything from an Amphicar to a Chrysler Turbine. You may remember the Tucker or the Meizenhelder they showed with us in the past? Well...this year they are again joining us with something really special.
The Stahl's will be joining us with a car that may well be one of the first REAL Day2 cars. Imagine thinking that your 1935 Auburn Speedster isn't quite fast enough. That is what a previous owner in England thought decades ago, Simple answer? drop in an authentic numbered Duesenberg Model J drivetrain! Now, to do this, they had to extend the frame and hood nearly 11". Add a complete Duesenberg dash panel and instrumentation and numerous other modifications and you have a truly one-off automobile. The amount of modifications throughout are numerous and believe me, you need to see it in person to appreciate the craftsmanship....and beauty!
We truly appreciate the generosity of Ted and Mary Stahl for joining us with the historic automobile. Be sure to talk to the Stahl staffers that are joining us, as they can tell you all about this car and of course, the incredible collection that you can see in Chesterfield, Michigan.
