@mcnsterinme said: “ I *accidentally* stepped on your favorite paint brush. ”
‘Accidentally’ is a very convenient word, and one that triggers a great deal of suspicion. Then again, he would have thought Elijah above such pettiness as to intentionally take revenge in such a manner. At the very least, surely Elijah would have considered himself above such pettiness. If nothing else, it’s an act more becoming of their sister.
❛ As I’m quite sure I did not leave it lying upon the floor, brother, I’ll confess myself rather baffled as to how that might have happened. I don’t suppose you have any theories? ❜
He should be angry, and he is. Irritated, at least, though he veils it. If Elijah wishes to play this game, it’s one that two can play.
@mcnsterinme for Klaus -- since I ended our other thread!
Vampirism came with a few perks, including a less urgent ( if not nonexistent ) need for sleep. It ought, Cami thought as she rose from her bed to make her way to the window and stare out into the darkness beyond, to make insomnia less unpleasant. Apparently, it did nothing of the sort. The clock by her bedside read 3:27 AM, the numbers staring back at her tauntingly. As they had for the past two hours, during which she’d endeavored ( and failed ) to fall asleep.
There was nothing in particular to trouble her mind. Vincent worked to keep the New Orleans witches recruited to the cause of their covens, of him as their regent. The leaders of each coven reached out beneath his guidance to check in with each of their members. Under other circumstances, it might prove a beautiful example of a community coming together in support. As it was, she’d seen the restlessness in Vincent, felt the anxiety herself. Perhaps it was that same general, nameless anxiety that plagued her now.
Regardless, she surrendered to the inevitable: having risen, she dressed and returned to her vigil by the window. The disorientation of the early hour, the lack of sleep, and the silence in the air around her only added fuel to fire, feeding into that vague anxiety until she could stand there no longer. Not alone.
First instinct instructed her to call Vincent. But at 3:27, if Vincent wasn’t asleep, well… he damn well should be.
Second instinct… Her second instinct she squashed even swifter. Despite his plea that she not cease coming to the compound, though she knew their present circumstances would not have allowed her to do so even if it weren’t for her reassurances that it was no worse than the alternative… Cami still felt compelled to main some distance, some boundary. Contacting Klaus in the middle of the goddamn night would flirt dangerously with that line, if not step brazenly over it.
Third instinct brought Elijah to mind, but that bore its own Klaus-related risks, and she did not have the energy.
In the end, she sighed and pulled a coat about her shoulders and set off into the city streets. Though it was, without doubt, not the safest of ventures given their current circumstances, but she could not remain, restlessly, at home.
Has there ever been anyone Klaus wished he would have turned but it was far too late?

「 Klaus is actually rather stingy about turning people. He only does so when there’s a personal or tactical advantage to be gained, or he ends up particularly attached to said person ( ie Marcel ). The sad truth about Klaus, though, is that ever since Aurora broke his heart in 1002 AD, he so rarely allows himself to care about a person deeply enough to get to that point. Being an immortal means being used to losing people, so death is a very natural thing he’s accustomed to. There’s no one in his life that he regrets losing since he’d spent careful time in keeping himself too closed off to care that deeply. 」

When she walked into the family bathroom, she thought she was alone. She’d broken the handle on the door and it was pretty much locked. Pretty much. Oh and the handle was on the floor and covered with blood that wasn’t her’s. She was freaking out. Just a little. This wasn’t the first time she’d killed an innocent, no, she had spots of memory from when she was practicing expression. She remembered killing people. Remembered bodies on the ground. Her fault, her fault, her fault. And now someone was dead because she was hungry.
And that hunger hadn’t faded yet. Not even with everything she’d taken from them. She splashed water up onto her face, then her eyes widened. “What are you doing in here?” She was pretty sure she was the only one in there. She didn’t want him seeing how much guilt weighed her down in that moment.

Funny thing about New Orleans, secrets were either kept or told. There was no in between and you always took a 50/50 chance when telling someone something in this town. So for her to think that he being back would be kept a secret or only amongst a few would have been a foolish thought to have to begin with. Katherine had wanted to make her rounds on her own time. Settle back in town and do her rounds of letting people know she was back. But she had known that wouldn’t happen. She’d have little time back in the town before someone came looking. “You know you aren’t as sneaky as I remember.” Katherine says as she heard the footsteps around her porch. She had been sitting on a chair placed on her wrap around porch. She had heard the first footsteps and waited for whoever it was to make their way to the back. “It’s good to see you.” Katherine smiled as she looked over at him. “What do I owe the pleasure of this visit?”

Bonnie had been walking through the lively streets when she saw a familiar original. “I’m not here to start anything. I just wanted to see the city.”, she stated when she drew close enough.
