Zaterdag 11 januari – Bert Mulder is overleden.

Dimension Air edible diner @ Mediamatic Amsterdam
The diner was a great succes, we got a lot of really good responses from both the teachers as well as the public. The whole experience of performing this diner was amazing, the group dynamic was good, we really got used to each other and helping each other out. At times it even felt as a tiny holiday, being in Amsterdam with a lot of sun next to the water.
I started in the visual identity / promotion material group at the beginning of this semester. Because it is something that I do find really interesting and I am not really good at still. It is about telling the story, together with Anna, Fiona, Clarisse and Manuel. I knew the work they had done before and it felt like that I could learn a lot from them. It also felt as the easy way out to do the concept, knowing beforehand that I would then stay in my head all the time. The same kind of goes for the organization part, I know I can do this but I wanted to take the opportunity to do something different, work with different people and learn from them.
It was difficult, I couldn't really find my place. It was difficult because of the time consuming tasks and the political relation almost in trying to balance out time spent. As well as that we had to create a cohesive identity where Anna and Fiona had been working on before. But I loved working on the bibs, creating a pattern, producing them, finishing them. In the end I also knew that I didn’t like production work. I learned a lot of practical things about printing stickers, using flex etc. The technical part of using Photoshop, Illustrator is something I really need to work on, I can’t have others do it all the time. Being in the photo studio was really nice, I have to get a bit more of a feeling for it but I do really like creating this image and it was nice to sometimes watch from the sideline and see what you can learn from others. For the evening itself, making sure everyone shows the ‘image’ and looks good was nice to do and something that I learned pretty early on I guess, always doing dance performances in theatre.
